He will get a similar ban to Shawcross which was what? 3 games?

Why should he get any ban? The ref had a clear view and didn't think it a foul. Chris Waddle, Nicky Butt and Kevin Keegan - all experienced ex-players working for ESPN - didn't think it was a foul even after watching endless replays.
Just my opinion that he will because of the result of the tackle, not that I think he deserves it. Double leg break.

The FA can review and punish him on video evidence because the ref didn't book him. If he did the couldn't do jack is my understanding of it How stupid is that.

I suppose this was always going to happen with Nige.

EDIT: Just seen the Guardian link, hope it's true - now f*** off Durham/Collymore etc.

I'd imagine de jong being pretty disheartened by the fact he can't play for his nation anymore. that's MESSED up. really, how does what he do for his club represent his national side? especially when it's a fair challenge..

It's not about whether the ref booked him or not. The only way it can be looked at retrospectively is if the ref didn't see the incident. (or if he now says he didn't see it) But that will be clearly bullshit because he did see it. He was 6 yards away looking at it as it happened. Therefore to act now will be a manipulation of the rules.

The dutch has different football culture. It wasnt this tackle that was the end for the manager. Like the dutch journalist said on talksport there have been going on debates about De Jong for months as many people feel he's a dirty player and shouldnt represent their nation.

Their manager said after his tackle on Ben Arfa he just couldnt ignore anymore as he has felt for a while De Jong goes in too hard when he doesnt have to, thats his words. You just have to accept their football culture as De Jong is fully aware of it anyway

Can we leave that lot 'til after the Blackpool game, Ricster.

Yeah, totally. I was thinking a home game anyway. But as i said if we're talking about support for De Jong then surely its upto us to do it, not the club, thats why we're called supporters.

Wasn't a foul - end of story - or it should be, but this is city and everyone hates us now. Leave Nige alone, he's doing great

The Netherlands, even at their most successful, were always dirty.

They have an obsession with hard tackling like we have an obsession with players who don't run a lot.
