Survey- City v Rag rivalry

ffs i filled it all out to be told 'sorry this survey is now closed :(

Do you believe the gap between Manchester United and Manchester City is getting smaller in terms of ability? Please give an explanation for your answer.

no, i believe it to be getting bigger, to make it smaller united will have to start buying higher quality players

I think the results will be a affected by your timing Steph.

At present it seems everyone hates us. Last season we weren't too bad, and the season before we seemed to be everyones 'second team'.

As a football fan I dont mind City - I've already said, I think real fans will hopefully recognise they're no different to Chelsea or Real.

That said, I dont like the way they almost stalk players that the club dont want to sell, eg: Milner. However, it's no real different to what Real did with Ronaldo, what Barcelona did (but failed) with Fabregas and to an extent, what United did with Berbatov. It's swings and roundabouts really isnt it?!and I think Bellamy was one of your best players last season, it's a shame what's happened to him.

I think it's great that they had 6 players on the pitch in England's recent match and fair play to the club - they've bought alot of foreign stars yet their base is English. Who can moan at that?!

OK, done.

Can't remember who posted earlier in the thread about the questions being a bit childish but I have to agree.

If after research these are the best questions janedoe can come up with then I have to wonder about the validity of the research into the questions.

Are you saying you have researched the questions for your research project?

Finally.

16) How do you respond to football fans who claim City’s spending is ruining football?

Well I tend to do a handstand with my boxer shorts over my head, then fling cheese at them.

The question about Tevez is badly worded.

He didn't make a move across Manchester.

He moved from Stretford to Manchester.

Thank you to everyone who has responded to the questionnaire - I now have more than the number I needed.

As a result this and due to the undue response I have experienced by some members on here, I've closed the survey. I really appreciate those who reacted positive to this and I've received numerous pm's of support and telling me to ignore the negative individuals on here.

Many thanks for tony for uploaded the link, ive had over 300 responses in the last 24 hours and now have nearly 600, I will do this topic justice, whether people believe so or not.

thanks again, best wishes all

Guys, the survey responses are playing only a small part of this research - as stated, I want open ended questions so I can draw important quotes that people have written and use them. However by no means are the survey results the full focus of the study. I will be addressing the rivalry since the clubs were formed as Newton Heath and St. Marks in the late 1800's up until the present day. Much of what you guys have done will address the present day but as evident, this will be a small chunk of a whole history!

I am also speaking to former players of both clubs and journalists - as well as those who have written books on the topic.

Whilst not taking away anything from those who have responded to the questionnaire it is a small role in a large research topic.

If you want to complete it, please do so. If you just want to slag if off, then don't worry about it - I don't want to waste your time.

However I'm unsure as to why me writing a research project, which will be published is drawing so much criticism - surely it's a good thing that people are looking into contemporary sporting issues??!! And anyone who's been to Uni will know exactly how important academic research is.
Only one team claims to have been formed twice (unless you include FC united ).
City were formed in 1894....end of/beginning of.
