Everyone's got their own opinion on Garcia which is fair. Last season I was happy enough for us to play Sane knowing he was going to Bayern, but that was because Sane is an unbelievably talented player. I honestly don't think Garcia is good enough. I don't think he's physical enough to make it as a top CB in England. He's not bad on the ball, but out of possession, he's like a headless chicken. He's leaving at the end of the season anyway, so why risk our success for a player who's offering nothing?
Firstly he is a better player than many of you think. Rated by Pep and Spanish international management team.

To call him a headless chicken is complete nonsense. I agree that he has certain limitations which may prevent him making it to the very top. But to suggest that he would greatly weaken us against a Swansea side likely to rest half their team is unfair to the lad.

The fact he is leaving is not relevant unless he is keeping say Ake out of the team. The last thing we want is an unnecessary injury to a key defender when we have a resource more than capable of doing the job.

Garcia isnt big enough or quick enough to be a top class centre back, he has some fine attributes reads the game well and he is a leader and likes a battle , but he wants to go back home to Spain and you have to repect that decision similar to Sane , no point in keeping an unhappy player.
He is making the right decision because he is behind four players at the Etiahd and Harwood/Bellis is also an excellent prospect , if he wants to play for the Spanish national team he needs to play , Barca are skint and he will walk into their side good luck to the lad .It would have been nice to recieve some money from Barca for all the hardwork we have put into the lad, maybe they should give us Messi and pay half his wages as compensation.

most posters on here are only putting Doyle in the side... if we play the side above with Doyle instead of Bernardo it’s not exactly weak is it? Or a risk.

sounds like you don’t have much faith in our youngsters (just the one)
The point is that Pep didn’t put youngsters in against Birmingham who are nothing like the team that Swansea are.

He did put several in against Cheltenham and City came within nine minutes of being knocked out.

I am not saying I wouldn’t play Doyle. I probably would. I am just not convinced that Pep will.

We need Foden and Gundogan fresh for the Spurs game, and rotate the rest as much as possible.

Steffan
Walker, Stones, Laporte, Mendy
Rodri, Fernandinho, Bernardo
Mahrez, Jesus, Ferran

Steffen
Walker Laporte Garcia Mendy
Dhino Foden Bernardo
Torres Jesus Mahrez

Decent side Swansea and they like to play football, so that will suit us.
