Feel confident on this one. I think we're on a roll now and once we get a run together we look unstoppable. I'm starting to feel like we won't lose another game all season.

As for the team, I'm not too bothered who we play but I wouldn't play Garcia again for the very simple reason, he wants to leave. He's nowhere near the same level as Sane was so he can enjoy the reserves until he leaves to go to Barcelona. He might be a model professional and be great in training but there's no point in playing him. I would rather see THB have go next to Laporte. At least we will get to see if THB is a good player and he wants to stay.

We will win 3-0 and another step closer to another trophy!
I thought THB went out on lone ?

He’s championship level. Which is a good career for him.
As has been said, that’s an early call to make, and not one I would’ve made now. But since you’ve gone and said it, based on what I’ve seen of him, I think I agree.

Hope you don't mind a visit from Swansea in the midst of your celebrations from today! Suspect both of us are thinking Wednesday is a distraction we can do without and hopefully we will be back up with you in the league next season (division wise not league position wise! )

Just a small plug for our own pre-match thread which covers some features of matches from the past as well as some of our classic 5th Round ties (we haven't had many over the years!) and of course some generic discussion

Any thoughts as to what kind of team you may field on Wednesday? Clearly there is some discussion around these parts of the quarter final game a couple of years back - less said about some ref decisions the better, I'm still convinced we'd have won the cup had we got past you!

Anyway, hope to see a couple visit the discussion over there as well but let's see what Wednesday brings (is it wrong to fancy penalties after the one you took today...? ;-) )

We did look today at our first Premier League game back in 2011 which of course was the first one for a certain Mr Aguero...

I wish you luck in your promotion and you're welcome on BM. But if you are implying you lost the tie because of ref decisions, that's rather revisionist history. Aguero's winner was offside for sure, but by that time we had already pulled it back from 0-2 to 2-2 and were right on top. There's always a chance you might have sneaked a winner or won on penalties but it was much against the odds. Some in the media with their usual objectivity claimed Sterling was lucky to win a penalty, but the replays showed clear and strong contact and it was every bit as much a penalty as your first goal.

I agree, and if he plays one of the first team Cbs cannot get injured. So benefits the TEAM.
A 19 year old full international is not as bad as some believe.
Still probably not good enough for us in PL going forward.
Fair comment but I would have no qualms if his reported desire to return to Spain doesn't eventuate and he stays.

These days in these times that are likely to continue for a while to come you need 4 CB's and quality in the top 20 players to compete for silverware in the league.

A long way to go and we hope our fit and personnel in form stay that way for the remainder of the season but who knows what will happen and as Liverpool of late have shown you need the right balance to get the best outcomes on match day.

Nah I think Stones, Dias, Laporte, Ake and THB are all better, and 5 is enough. Happy for Garcia to go to his beloved Barce with no hard feelings
