.................Willy

Zab.......Stones...Kolarov.....Clichy

..............Garcia

Navas.....Toure...De-Bruyne...Sane

...............Kelechi

Sterling on for De-Bruyne after about 55mins.

Considering Aleix Garcia has been on the bench instead of Yaya for the last two games, and Yaya hasn't featured since Bucharest I'd be surprised to see him instead of Garcia. They could both play, but Garcia seems nailed on, having played well in his 20 minute cameo on saturday and Pep talking about the need to rotate.

really wonder what Pep will do with this competition

as a exemplary professional pep will want to win it but we all know that the prem and champs league will be priorities -will he use it to blood some of the youngsters or will he go the whole hog and play full strength teams - i know we know have the quality to chop ad change and still hit the heights required but for instance ,,,,does he play silva and KDB or give them some rest...same as fernandihnio and the fullbacks

Id be happy with him using it to experiment with in terms of younger players and systems

I think if Toure is available but doesn't play on Wednesday, then we could feasibly never see him in a City shirt again.

Think we will line up,
Willy
Maffeo, kompany, stones, Angelino
Garcia, yaya
Sane, gundogan, navas
iheanacho

Easier said than done. We're still a work in progress so it's best not get ahead of ourselves. We could easily slip up at Spurs next weekend, Everton at home will be tough too.

Can't think seluk's explosion after the CL squad announcement will have helped toure's cause. I think it will take an exceptional set of circumstances for him to play for city again

How conclusive would another 'migraine' or a case of the 'flu' be in that regard?

Agreed and I don't really want to. I love Yaya but seeing him wondering round off the ball like an 86 year old who's just lost their dog in the park is heartbreaking stuff.
There's no doubt he's got the ability to go to a lesser league and dominate matches but times ticking for him.

Well I'm going to stick my neck out and say something nobody appears to want to hear. If Yaya can eat a bit of humble pie – a big if, admittedly (or humble cake) – he may just surprise you all as an impact player this season. I don't think Yaya is really capable of stamping his authority on full ninety-minute games any more, but he may well have a role being brought on for the last thirty, thirty five minutes of a match. I'd sort of be surprised if Pep doesn't at least try this out from time to time, in competitions like this. If only to put Yaya in some sort of shop window, and tempt clubs to come in for him in January or next summer. Of course, none of us see what his attitude has been in training. If he's been like Achilles sulking in his tent, then he's already dead wood as far as Pep's concerned.

The youngsters. I'd be pretty disappointed if he doesn't bring in a couple for this. Personally, I'd like to see Angelino and Maffeo in the full back positions.
