Completely disagree with you.
It sounds very arrogant to just dismiss the League cup we should be competing for everything, not cherry picking and saying"not arsed".

Fair enough, I hope you say that to the many city fans who appear to dismiss the champions league sight unseen, but I respect everyone's opinion I just think the league cup A) sort of makes you forget about the FA Cup (our performances in that tournament have been wretched for 2/3 years) and B) Massively wears out your team before christmas, particularly if you play full strength or close to it starting 11's in an effort to win it. not arrogance pragmatism. jeopardising pursuit of two major trophies for a minor one makes no sense to me. If the kids get us to the semis then you can start playing stronger teams.

Of all our new signings, Sané is the least to have gained his former stride. He looked timid so far bar the sterling goal assist. Would do wonders for him to gradually get into the game by starting one.

Very difficult team to predict for this. I imagine there will be heavy rotation given the games we've had so far, but hope Guardiola takes it seriously. I'm sure he will. Reckon we'll line up something like this:

Caballero
Zabaleta
Stones
Kompany/Adarabioyo
Clichy
Garcia
Silva/Delph/Fernando (if any of them are fit)
Toure
Sane
Navas
Iheanacho

Does this game count towards the bans on Aguero and Nolito?
Hope Pep rotates heavy for this game. A lot of away games coming up and we need to save the players' legs for the PL and CL.

Could do with delph and Fernando being fit to give Fernandinho a rest.

I'd go with

Willy

Zabaleta
Otamendi
Kompany (if not Kolarov)
Clichy

Stones

Gundogan
Delph

Navas
Nacho
Sane

Reluctant to play Navas but don't want to tire out Sterling or De Bruyne.

Also be interesting if Yaya was to play apart. In theory he should be raring to go but you just know what you're gonna get with him

Agreed.
I'd go further and continue to play kids/squad players if we make it to the semis.
Those two games in January can be of high intensity and take it out of the players at a busy time in the season.
This competition is not a priority for us this season.

Not too fussed about the league cup this season. If we go all the way then great but the De Bruyne injury against Everton killed the season. I don't want to risk key players in the 4th priority.
