Swansea (a) Post Match Thread

Yesterday wasn’t overly bad for me, probably even more so as the result got us what we wanted. For me we have had so many tight, shit away games where we create nothing and look awful to watch. Don’t get me wrong yesterday wasn’t great but on another day we could of scored 4/5 easily. Defence is a worry though, fuck me Otamendi and Mangala are a horrible pairing due to neither having the slightest footballing brain. We should be well past the point of being worried of our defenders on the ball and the way they both fly in is remarkable.

We got what we needed and Pep wont be a year behind now.

Guardiola should have Otemendi and Mangala doing laps of the Cfa every time one of them decides to rashly give away a foul on the edge of the box or hit a suicide ball accross the defence that ends up with an opposition player.

I hope this will be the end of us having a soft undisciplined under belly. If the ball is turned over everyone should know where they need to be and not leaving a huge gap in the middle of the park.

Exactly. I remember playing for my school time and in defence. we was awful and won a handful of games in our 5 years there. Even at that shockingly poor level we was always told don't play the ball across your own box. If anyone is stealing a living in our team it is these two "defenders"

Mangala has got to go. Have we not see enough mistimed leaps, lunges, passes, positional play? More than enough methinks. Tarka's mistimed lunges are terrible also but I definitely think he can improve. I just can't see that happening with Mangala.

Well that has to be the worst game featuring City i've seen all season. 22 players strolling around as if they're already on a promenade. Even the Kid was half asleep. Still, job done.

Still can't make my mind up whether it was a well managed game, making sure that we got the result we needed or another performance that lacked intensity in a crucial match. I do wonder whether we would have won that match yesterday if we had needed to or did we genuinely not have it in us to truly step things up. Anyway, ultimately it was job done, the complete disaster was averted and without wanting to be too disrespectful to a seemingly decent bloke, I am very pleased that I have seen a City team set up by Pellegrini for the last time. I am happy this morning, have a spring in my step that I haven't had for a while and cannot wait for next season which is a great feeling considering I went into this season with little enthusiasm and fearing the worst.

That's quite a bold statement to say one can improve and not the other. Even more so when the one you state can improve is 28 and should have ironed out these errors long before now and the one you claim cant improve is 25.
