Swansea (A) Post Match Thread

Yep so was I, as much as I love Silva, I never thought I would see a better player than Colin playing for City but i have now, my childhood hero has been replaced, long live the king.
I never thought I would see a better City team than the ones of the late 60s and early 70s - we expected to beat Manure by big scores in those days. However, those City teams were assembled on a limited budget, so a comparison with the current team is a bit unfair. We expected the 60s and 70s teams to beat Manure and beat 'em well - and they didn't let us down. The current team is continuing the tradition of outclassing Manure every time. Colin, Franny, Mike S and Mike D were especially dominant against the vermin, along with Willie D and Tony B and the rest.

Opposing teams are now in awe of us - they look proud to be on the same pitch as such an unbelievable team.

Can't even get over how good they are. Can't get over that it's my club. I honestly hope we make some history and do something the games never seen before because the way we're playing at minute deserves it

Stunning stuff from super slick City.

We've known for years how good David Silva is, and now it seems everyone has caught up. His game tonight was something to behold. I don't recall him having a header but he did everything else it's possible to do with a football, and a few other things without one. A second half crunching tackle on the half way line that many a 'hard man' would've pulled out of was as beautiful too see as the balance, turns and metronomic passing he treated us to for 90 minutes tonight. Harrying around like a terrier after a rat and generally mixing it are not traits usually attributed to artistic, delicate, visionary midfielders once known as 'luxury' players, but with Silva we get the best of both worlds.
After watching his second goal tonight several times i still can't decide if it's Messi or Iniesta esque. Probabaly a bit of both but i think it's safe to say he is now at the top of the tree alongside those two greats.

Absolutely buzzing, although that could be the two cans of Red Bull that I drank driving home from The Liberty, to have been able to witness history being made in person. I only got to go because of the late postponement of something else that I had to be at so bought tickets yesterday from Swansea and sat with the home fans. So many of them had disappeared from around us that, as we were on back row, I jumped up and applauded Sergio's goal. However, the star of the show was David Silva, who simply ran the show.

Plenty of other good work though. The football may not be as sparkling at the moment as it was earlier in the season - although there was still enough glitter tonight to decorate a large Xmas tree - but the way the team is playing shows ever increasing understanding and accurate implementation of what Pep wants. I love that the team is being humble in the way Pep wants and is working harder than the opposition. I love that they absolutely were not going to concede a goal tonight - that adjustment by Eddie to save a deflected shot at 3-0!

Pity MotD did not have time to show the whole Ole move.

Now to see if Pep can finally put Poch in his place in England.
