Swansea (a) pre-match thread

Typical city would drop points in this but typical city would not be 11pts clear. A bigger gap than PSG have...

Teams down the bottom have been pathetic this season. They need to win games now and take more risks. It is earlier than usual but it is a result of how poor a lot of the bottom half have been. Spurs equally cannot lose or draw games now. They have to beat us and therefore must take risks and attack. Their pressing will trouble us but there will be space for our players to get at them too.

Back to tonight weknow Swansea will play on the counter and Bony will be a physical challenge Otamendi and Mangala will enjoy. We know we need to keep Ferny and Sane available for Spurs so neither should play tonight. Aguero Bernardo Jesus De Bruyne Silva Gundogan Mangala Danilo Zinchenko Otamendi Ederson.

A team with Ederson Otamendi De Bruyne Silva and Aguero should haveenough to beat Swansea regardless of the other changes.

it would be very typical City that Bony scores tonight and in fairness to him he has a very good record and has generally played very well against us.

For some reason whether it is timing of the matches or otherwise Swansea have run us very close in most of the recent matches between us (in the last 5 matches we've drawn once, won 3-1 there last year and the other 3 have been 2-1 wins- with last goals in the 4 wins). Having said that if we perform we win, get our tempo right and move the ball quickly and accurately and we should be fine.

Having won at the swamp the match tonight could be after the Lord Mayor's show or alternatively having overcome united there may be a little relief and some of the edginess in our passing in the final 3rd might disappear. Hopefully Mr. Taylor the big Alty fan has no bearing on the result.

It’s pretty much a given that Bony will score tonight. Hopefully it’ll just be a consolation! Looking forward to seeing the physical battle between him and Mangala.

When you piece everything together, there is a lot of value in betting on Swansea tonight at their ridiculous odds. Certainly worth a couple of quid!

  • Anthony Taylor
  • Bony seems to score 90% of his goals against teams he played for
  • We're sandwiched between two games against Rags and Spurs
  • We'll rotate some players and generally we perform below our high standards when we do that
  • Two solid performances in a row from Mangala? Is that even possible?
  • The bigger our lead gets, the more complacency can creep in. Even more so considering they're bottom of the league
Worth a bet to help ease the pain should we actually lose.

Hopefully we turn up 100% focused and get the job done, despite Taylor's best efforts.

COME ON CITY!!!

Conceding a goal to a team with more defeats than goals will really hurt my arguments with rag friends that our defence is actually very good.

No chance we lose here, quite simply they are nowhere near good enough to beat us. 2 or 3 nil city.
