Swansea away pre-match thread

Absolutely no need to chase this game and have the team strung out from front to back, regardless of the space Swansea will give up.

They embarrassed us at home on the counter attack.

Surely there is a balance between having an attacking threat and being a little more solid when the conditions are in our favour.

4-4-2 is always about who scores the first goal, 4-2-3-1 is always about knowing you are in control and the chances will still come your way.

No.

What it means is De Bruyne is shunted out wide when he is most effective in the middle behind Aguero. It's a bizarre decision.

Nasri should be in for Kelechi as well. It could be he isn't fully fit so I'll hold up my hands if that's the case but if not its another perplexing call.

We were over run by Arsenal in the 2nd half last week playing with 2 strikers and that actually cost us because we conceded when the whole stadium could see it was coming.

Our most productive part of that game was with De Bruyne playing centrally

Bit more nervous now having seen the starting line-up. Was convinced that Pellegrini would play an extra midfielder as a percautionary measure in the circumstances. Just hope the decision to start Iheanacho is vindicated.

Exactly - keeping it solid but with a eye to attack when opportune.
Risky, unnecessary set up this.

Watch the players, is a striker dropping deep 4 4 2 or 4 2 3 1?

Answer: It does not matter, it is just how the players apply themselves. Some 'fans' believe all the sky rubbish.

SPOT ON. This man's playing a dangerous game. If he fails he should be given an hostile reception if he ever returned to the Ethiad. Unforgivable.

Played well but ran out of steam and got overrun in midfield. What did Nacho do to justify a start?
KDB is wasted wide, we need him behind Kun dictating play.

Swansea, as well as they have done recently, are no Arsenal and if we can't get after them with this XI, it's a very bad day.

Mate, the usual suspects are STILL defending the clueless one right until his very last game.

Sorry for having an opinion.

It's exactly that sort of attitude that got us into this position in the first place.

Stop sulking. Nobody said you weren't entitled to an opinion. I can see your argument for him not playing the way you would,
but to say carte blanche, he's got it wrong before the match has kicked off is rubbish.
