Swansea fans haven't sold out

Hi lads, swansea fan here just trying to explain our current situation. Swansea to Manchester as many people have already pointed out is a long way on a Monday night, its a bloody nightmare and means time off work. (yes some of us work) which this time of year with annual leave isn't easy.
Another poster in this thread said it was our biggest game for decades, sorry but this is clearly nonsense, this game is imo no more important than the next 37, its just 3 points however a few months back we played a game which is billed as the richest in sport.

I am not going monday night but I have travelled to Bury, Rochdale, Macclesfield, Oldham, etc on a Saturday more times than I can remember. I would have been there on a saturday/sunday no doubt.

Also worth bearing in mind our first 3 away games are yourself, chelsea and arsenal so again some will be put off.

Over 2500 on a monday night isnt that bad, for a club that average 15000 home fans last year.

Good turnout for a monday night and I wish you all the best for the new season(apart from games against us obviously)

Whilst I agree with your post in general, this IS your biggest game in decades, as it is your first in the Premier League, EVER.

It's a shame it's Monday night, I can't go myself, gutted.
As someone else said, should have been a Sunday game to get a new team maximum exposure.

Good luck, hope you have a great season Jacks.

Totally respectable number mate! Ignore some of the posters on this website. As we seem to be getting bigger, more and more clowns seem to be pipng up as we're as big as Real Madrid and mocking other clubs and other sets of fans - and even our own fans - about how small they are.

And too many people are utterly OBSESSED with empty seats. Fuck knows why!

-- Sun Aug 14, 2011 9:59 pm --

It's nowhere near as big as any of their play-off games last season

your dead right mate. 2500 is really good considering its Monday, fukkin miles away, on telly, time off work etc. Also that number quadruples the amount that Wigan, Bolton,et al bring and them scrotes are up the road.

Technically maybe not, but disposable incomes being squeezed by declining real wages

No there isn't.

ok there are lots of people struggling because of horrific lack of work and rising petrol prices and according to my wife rising food prices, oh and falling wages.

it might not technically be a recession but it feels like one

Correct Wigan and Bolton are shit as well they bring 4/500 on a Saturday. If Swansea bring over a 1000 tonight then good on them because its some drive.
