Swansea - Post match thread

I think a lot of the press and pundits aren't aware that Jesus can play on the wing and has played most of his football there.

If you thought he was like Aguero, just a 9, you'd think it was one or the other.

Now, the fact that people paid to write and talk about football for a living are so clueless and have such little general knowledge of the game is another matter...
Aguero will be gone in the summer Madrid bound IMHO

Didn't see any of the post match stuff earlier today, so apologies for the tardiness of this post and also the posibility (probability?) that it's already been mentionedJust saw Clement whining about our winning goal, claiming that
A. Kolarov wasn't fouled at the start of the move that led to the goal. Arguable.
B. The free kick wasn't taken from the actual spot where the foul took place. Which is correct.
C. The free kick was taken with a rolling ball. Again, correct.

Strangely enough though, he didn't offer an opinion on Swansea's goal having more than a hint of offside about it.

A. Same assistant ref gave it who said Sterling dived. Maybe got both wrong.
B. Did Dean actually give the FK? I thought he might have played advantage.
C. If it was a FK, there was only one moment when it was taken, and the ball was stationary. (A long way from the offence.)

I note MotD didn't review the Sterling penalty claim - anyone else suspect that was because they had an angle that showed contact?

That was done over a year ago to be fair.

He was still quoted talking about moving to Independiente, this time last year. But whenever it was signed, it's a clear objective to keep hold of him for more than one season. And I doubt Pep would want to kick him out.

Imo it would have to be Aguero who asked to leave & he has chirped up to say he doesn't want to go, when he could have said nothing.

Watched the highlights on mancity.com.

jesus and Sane the stars. Aguero should have set up jesus for a sensational hat-trick at the end. Aguero's late sub was telling: either carrying a knock or Pep rates Sterling, Jesus and Sane above him at the moment.

Disappointing that Kompany did not start. Suggests to me that Guardiola is not going to prioritise getting him back for the run in and is going to go with the defence we have. Stones would improve alongside Kompany surely. Stones made some good interceptions and covering tackles today, but he retreats too much when forwards run at him, and we still have not eliminated the annoying habit of conceding from the oppositions only attacking moves
