Swansea - Post match thread

I think a lot of the press and pundits aren't aware that Jesus can play on the wing and has played most of his football there.

If you thought he was like Aguero, just a 9, you'd think it was one or the other.

Now, the fact that people paid to write and talk about football for a living are so clueless and have such little general knowledge of the game is another matter...
Aguero will be gone in the summer Madrid bound IMHO

Didn't see any of the post match stuff earlier today, so apologies for the tardiness of this post and also the posibility (probability?) that it's already been mentionedJust saw Clement whining about our winning goal, claiming that
A. Kolarov wasn't fouled at the start of the move that led to the goal. Arguable.
B. The free kick wasn't taken from the actual spot where the foul took place. Which is correct.
C. The free kick was taken with a rolling ball. Again, correct.

Strangely enough though, he didn't offer an opinion on Swansea's goal having more than a hint of offside about it.

A. Same assistant ref gave it who said Sterling dived. Maybe got both wrong.
B. Did Dean actually give the FK? I thought he might have played advantage.
C. If it was a FK, there was only one moment when it was taken, and the ball was stationary. (A long way from the offence.)

I note MotD didn't review the Sterling penalty claim - anyone else suspect that was because they had an angle that showed contact?

That was done over a year ago to be fair.

He was still quoted talking about moving to Independiente, this time last year. But whenever it was signed, it's a clear objective to keep hold of him for more than one season. And I doubt Pep would want to kick him out.

Imo it would have to be Aguero who asked to leave & he has chirped up to say he doesn't want to go, when he could have said nothing.

Watched the highlights on mancity.com.

jesus and Sane the stars. Aguero should have set up jesus for a sensational hat-trick at the end. Aguero's late sub was telling: either carrying a knock or Pep rates Sterling, Jesus and Sane above him at the moment.

Disappointing that Kompany did not start. Suggests to me that Guardiola is not going to prioritise getting him back for the run in and is going to go with the defence we have. Stones would improve alongside Kompany surely. Stones made some good interceptions and covering tackles today, but he retreats too much when forwards run at him, and we still have not eliminated the annoying habit of conceding from the oppositions only attacking moves

I have no time for the rumours of him leaving either, I'm still of the opinion that Jesus will push him to another level.

All this Aguero on the move business....
It's a possibility I suppose depending on how much Pep rates Aubemeyang
Selling Sergio could fund that move but he's barely been on the pitch with Gabriel or a settled Sane.
Gabriel certainly seems the business, but talk of selling Sergio seems a bit premature to me.
Never a dull moment around here
Clutch win today Blues!

All we are doing is having the kind of competition for places that any sports team should have, and we havent really had that in the striking position for a couple of years. We have been lucky that aguero has been so good, and credit to his professionalism and ability for it. But a bit of competition is healthy and only right, and as us maturing observers will know that usually comes from those younger and slimmer and fitter and quicker than us. Such is life, and sport. Aguero just needs to roll with it, he is no more or no less of the footballer he was this time 3 weeks ago, he just needs to show that

Jesus ran more than 1 kilometre further v wet spam than Kun did v spuds.

Kun does not work hard enough and imho is not in elite physical condition.

Watch him in the training rondos. He has a reputation as a poor trainer.

Step up please Kun you've got some challenges now !!

The first half no complaints. The second half we were just shocking in both decisions of players Pep brought on just lucky we got the late goal. Feel next week there will be a few changes in the line up. I think the wingers will be given a chance but away to Bournmouth we have a great chance to get a few goals again. I think Pep might not leave it as late in getting Kun out on the pitch again. Is it crazy that I want to see us playing with Kun and Jesus up front. I just think that would be good to see. I think a few players had iffy games. KDB didnt look up to much today. Yaya went missing at times in the second half. Sterling didnt get much ball to danger there full backs. Silva the hearthbeat again.

All three of Pep's subs should've been made 10 minutes earlier than they were. I could see what was happening clearly and I was in The Monte Carlo Beach Club on Saadiyat Island with HRH Sheikh Mansour. We both stayed till the end too.

Did I mention that it was 26c today ?

Must dash !!

It does remain one of lifes mystery's how the clown can have "Footballer" in his passport when he spends so much time avoiding the f*cking ball, he could not tackle a good dinner and has no positional sense whatever, the sooner Pep brings in a replacement the better.

Happening.

Got to nurse Gael through to the end of the season.

He's been a very decent pro for us,don't turn on him we're not rags !
