Swearing

I'm East Stand, Level 2 in Block 201/242 area. It was only at the last game that I found out who has complanied & I think that I have seen him with mates & kids (he sits 1 row behind & I'm sure I've occasionally spoken to him). I am only swearing at the pitch, never at other fans & it's nothing nasty in my opinion. Just wish he would have said something to me rather than making it official & getting me paranoid about what the club will do.

Some fans must live completely sheltered lives imo. I was sat in the Bell End level 1, said fuck off once (due to a shit decision in all fairness by the ref) and was soon lambasted by the daddy brigade.

IMO if you sit anywhere i the ground except the family stand then there aren't any codes or rules to stop you venting your frustration. It is after all a working mans sport so you should expect working mans banter.

However the family stand where the majority are kids I would expect the language to be kept to a minimum, i realise the odd outburst where you cant control your emotions happens and i know most kids know all the words already but i believe theres no reason to ram them down their throat.

There is always some penis who's had his first pint or its his first match who will scream nothing else but expletives but they'll get over it in time.

I got lobbed out three years ago for swearing i was then sat in East Stand Level 2, 201. I had to make an apology to Peter Fletcher the stadium safety manager and to be honest im looking over my shoulder now every time i mutter a swear word.

I sit in the North stand Level 1 and swear constantly (not proud of it, just can't help myself sometimes). No-one has ever said anything near me as there is plenty of it.
Like someone else said you expect it at football.

I take my young daughter to some games, it's part and parcel of going to a game - it's the fans showing their passion. She can understand this and she is 5 - she finds it rather funny. Swearing is everywhere these days - it's how you bring your kids up to understand when it's wrong that matters........ "yes daring it's ok to tell the fat man in the black shirt he is a f**king *****"

Firstly, my apologies for starting a new topic with so few posts under my belt.

I have a season ticket in the East stand and for the last few home matches the steward nearest too me has told me that someone near me has complained about my bad language on more than one occasion.

Now I know I shouldn't swear, but I don't think I do it any more than anyone else who sits near me. Also the person in question has not even spoken to me about it, nor has anyone else complained.

Last week for the cup match. The steward brought in a senior steward to ask me to tone it down, and I was informed that the complainer has asked for a full report to me made, for the stadium cameras to be on me & for me to be moved.

As I said earlier, I know I shouldn't swear, but I can't beleive that I am the only one out of thousands to swear at a football match.

I intend to reduce the level of my bad language, but the reason for the topic was to ask if there is anything that I can do to cover me with the club, as I feel that I am being singled out for doing something that quite a few people must do each week.

Fuck me sideways!!

I remember a time when going to the match was a release from the pressures of life. Shouting singing and swearing was half the fun.

As long as you're not,

a/ in the family stand
2/ using the 'c' word
c/ being racist

then i can't see the problem meself. And you can't even watch a game on telly without hearing or seeing swearing so what's their fuckin problem.

Haha thats the spirit. I can understand families getting their backs up if the swearing is constant and certain words are used but for the occasional f**k, s**t etc i don't see the problem. When i have kids ill be the same as you on my views on swearing. I sit with my cousin (233) who takes his lad and it is family orientated but the occasional swear word never gets pulled up beacuse its expected
