I don't understand this either unless she and Wiegman have off the pitch issues.

She's a damn sight better than Millie Bright! Williamson has to be on the pitch because she is Dame Leah Williamson and it wouldn't do to have her sitting watching the game?

I think Wiegman selects Bright for her physicality. Doesn't want 2 ball playing centre-backs as she wants someone who can not only defend set-pieces but also pose a threat from them. Unfortunately against Sweden she was more of danger to Hampton than at the other end.

Bright is a physical player. If she is one on one with a player who has good ball skills she gets embarrassed and quickly. Just ask Rose Lavelle. I suppose the team tries to limit her being exposed that way when they are able.
