Poltically the problem is how the blame for all this is apportioned. The right usually blame foreigners. And the public buy it. Occasionally they realize this is bullshit.

The rise of the far right all over the Western world is a major cause for concern.
I don't think its anything to fear that much - Trump aside the successes are limited and if you think of how once they are exposed to the light of publicity they are generally defeated and go back to whence they came - think Marine Le Pen and Nick Griffin - they got their moment in the sun and were found out for what they were.

The reason for it should be the area of concern, not the reaction to it (social climate). It would be like snipping the head of a rose and wondering why the plant still grows.The rise of the far right all over the Western world is a major cause for concern.

nah- reality....................unless I missed something and the Front National are the major party in France and we are under a NF govt............though I do accept Boris seems to think we are.

I think the prospects of far right parties actually winning elections outright is limited, so it’s not a fear in that sense, but their relative popularity is a cause for concern nonetheless. We’ve seen them make significant gains in France, Germany, Italy, Austria, and now Sweden so it shouldn’t be easily dismissed.

Do you not accept some of this is a reaction to the terrorist actions all over Europe and North America?The rise of the far right all over the Western world is a major cause for concern.
Some people rightly or wrongly fear for their way of life.
Not everybody is happy with the levels of multi culturism being forced on them.
All major first world countries have taken in refugees and in places like Germany it has backfired with a substantial loss of life.
I have family who live in Frankfurt and Mainz and they have stated after recent events their life has been significantly changed by terrorist attacks.
Even the most liberal Germans are reacting against Germany's open door policies of recent years.
