Swimming Thread

Back at the outdoor pool at Oasis Sports Centre in Covent Garden this morning. Managed 92 x 27.5m lengths which stacks up to 2530m.
Not sure if it's a London thing, but there were 3 old blokes who swam at the pace of turtles who thought it was a good idea to choose the medium rather than slow lane. Thankfully, the lane was wide enough for overtaking, but they never waited at the pool ends to give priority to faster swimmers and generally lacked any spatial awareness.
I'm not generally an angry chap, but I got a little bit of lane rage this morning!

Made a return to Manchester Aquatics Centre this morning and managed to complete 50 x 50m lengths.
Was relatively quiet again, but nearly had a head on collision with a random Chinese lad who was attempting to swim anti-clockwise when the lane was set up to be clockwise.

Wish i could do cold water swimming , too scary with a disability , i do cold weather walking in a summer dress instead , love a zero degrees early morning walk all winter

Good intuition ^...a weighted rucksack or ankle weights would top-up your method

Buoyancy belts arent to be sniffed at...they cock you like a float in the water so you dont have to worry about your upper body...running in the water with giant hurdling strides is then a doddle...or backwards egg-beater kick to really work hip range of motion.
