I don’t like him in the Stones midfield role but there’s no denying Akanji is a brilliant CB.
He must go down as one of our best value for money signings in recent years.
He's not as safe as Stones in midfield but he grew into the role as season went on.. offered a lot more than John does going forward from there too.

Switzerland have generally been able to put in first half performances that have ranged from competent to dominating.Totally agree, Switzerland have some good players but might be the best example of how a good manager with tactical nous can enhance a team to be greater than the sum of its parts.
Comparatively, we look way worse than the sum of our parts.
Their Achilles heal is finishing out matches—they have frequently given up leads in the final 20 minutes through qualifying.
It seems, though, that they have improved there.
If they can maintain that concentration and cohesion I think they could go on a decent run, perhaps even to the SFs, given ours are playing like contest winners managed by a kabab shop owner with a keen interest in football.
