A simple question me and my Dad were discussing. Would you class SWP as a legend? we concluded he was not, however when he returns he always get a heroic reception. Would you say he has legendary status at MCFC?

I personally love the lad but I would never class him as a City legend. Never.

Hmm, I'll always remember that goal he scored against the rags, where he ran with the ball to the right of the pitch and smashed it into the top corner... He is legendary for that....
I think his Dad has come across as a right prick and during the time he was still with us, had alot of negative shit to say about the club.
Quality player, glad he played in a Blue shirt :-)

It's all relative really. It's easy to call a standout player in a team of superstars a legend. No doubt they deserve it, but with the likes of Shauny, he was a shining light in a fairly shit team, a young talent who was fast, skillfull, exciting to watch and always gave his all for the shirt. Not to mention his transfer helped us massively in the long run. He'll always be held in high regards by those of us who've followed City since before the transfer, and no matter how big we get, there will always be a place for him at the club, that I'm sure of.

SWP was the last player to play at Maine Rd and when he left City that connection was broken.
That makes him a City legend to me.

SWP is the reason i chose the club to support about 10 years ago and for that he's a legend to me. I'd love to meet him (in a non creepy way) because he seems such a nice guy.
Like a few other said, others are classed above him in status but from my personal view he's god to me.

I'm 22 and to me he is although I'll admit hes not up there with the proper legends. He was pretty much the only thing that wad good about city while I was at secondary school, through all the piss taking from scum fans I had swps magic runs and goals as a shining light, so yeah he's not up there with Bell and Summerbee but he'll always get a cracking reception from me.
