SWP

I see the "loyal" city fans are out in force on this thread!!!!

swp played as well as anyone on the england team last night....and he was certainly an improvement on milner (this awesome talent that some on here think is going to take us to the champs league level!!!)

at least he looked to take people on, got into shooting positions, made a few incisive passes and runs.....all of this playing out of position

deserves to be given a start in his natural position on the right

and his defensive work is better than any of the other wingers that capello has at his disposal (and is better than AJ's)

shauny needs to adapt his game to the left side, that means not taking the fullback on as soon as he gets the ball, needs to recycle it more and get ashley cole involved alot more as he likes to get forward on the overlap. shauns got a good passing game he just needs to stop dribbling and trying to take players on and play it simple

Really if you think SWP's shit, you don't have a danny about football and you should be shot. And that's being kind.

He might not be shit, but he's not good enough for England. Adam Johnson would've been a much, much better option than SWP against USA.

Correct. SWP is a very, very primitive footballer who simply is not good enough at the highest level

SWP was ok, no better, no worse than the other players tbh. It's players like Rooney who we need to ask questions of, he just wasn't good enough.

He is though...and I'm not just basing that on this one England game. AJ has been far better since he joined us hence him keeping SWP out of the side.
SWP hasn't been the player he used to be for a while now.

SWP is a right winger, pure and simple.

He should have started ahead of Lennon on the right wing and I also agree that Johnson should have been taken along too.

His form's not been the best this season for City but he's not become a shit player over night.

Impact sub next season if he doesn't want to move. Not the same player we sold to Chelsea since his return.

Whether you put him on the right wing or the left, 9 times out of 10 with SWP the result is the same. He'll run into an opponent and lose possession.
Not saying this because he left Chelsea and went back to City, he's always been the same.

Think there is a large element of luck about SWP's game. Now and again he will go past a player, but most of the time he honestly doesn't look like he knows what he's trying to do himself.
