If found guilty we all know that our society will protect this 16yr old. If he is of sound mind he will also know that he will go unpunished by our society and the justice system for carrying out this act of vandalism.
Crimes go unpunished in our society therefore criminal behaviour gets worse. Last night there was a news article on shoplifting and the police not bothering to even attend let alone prosecute.
Until we stop being soft on criminal activity and crack down on this kind of behaviour things will get worse.
If found guilty of this act this young man should be named and shamed at the very least, but I suspect the do gooders will stop that happening.
