Trevor Morley's Tache

If someone is peacefully exercising their legal right of way, I'd have absolutely no issue with it. If they weren't, then I'd call the police and have them deal with it.You'd probably be the same Trevor if you had to deal with some of the brain dead and ignorant twats that walked on your land.
As with all walks of life, the minority spoil it for the sensible and respectful majority.
When I was working Mountain Rescue in N.Wales, we were doing a navigation exercise in Snowdonia National Park.
We identified a public right of way on the map which crossed some farm land, and as we navigated to the start of the footpath we couldn't find the footpath sign or the styal over the dry stone wall, which was clearly marked on the map. We had a bit of a mooch about and found what looked like the remains of the wooden styal chucked in a nearby bramble thicket along with a grey metal signpost pole (minus the sign).
As we crossed the wall into the field, a Landrover appeared on the horizon and a couple for blokes got out carrying shotguns, with a snarling dog on a loose long lead and started walking towards us. As we got closer they started shouting at us and telling us we were trespassing, which we clearly weren't, but they did their best to intimidate us.
We just stood our ground and pointed out to them that we were on a public right of way, and even showed them on the map exactly where we were. In the end the we threatened to call the police and they moped off. When we got back we reported the missing styal and signpost to the National Parks authority.
