Syria | Assad flees to Moscow as rebels capture Damascus

Could be a good game this. What channel is this on? Why are they playing outside the normal international break?
They're not showing it live but there's highlights on YouTube. If you're lucky you might get some crowd footage on periscope.

If Russia win it'll be a hollow victory. There's rumours that they've breached ffp (fighting fair play) regulations. What do expect when you have a bottomless pit of cash to buy fighter jets, missiles and combat ships? Putin's a shit manager anyway. Put him in charge of Luxembourg and let's see how hard he is with no resources.

It’s cooled down. Turkey got what it wanted from the outset. EU will probably re-engage with Turkey on the refugee issue. Russia saved face.

So if the corona virus doesn't do for you, there maybe a Russian bullet with your name on it, just for good measure.
Ain't life a bitch at times.
Although a Russian /NATO war may be the only thing that can stop the scousers from winning the PL this season.
Ha.
Just saw this post from last month. Seems we didn’t need WW3 to stop the scousers after all.

With the Russian economy in freefall and its military focused on Ukraine, I suspect there will be significant consequences in Syria. If the opposition to Assad sense that his support from Russia is in decline it could well flare up there again. I've not seen any analysis of this but it will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Saw a UK military analyst today who reckons that Ukraine is taking up almost half of Russias military capability now

This was where we understood conventional tactics and where certain regimes stood on a geo-political scale.

We looked on while Putin did his thing.

I was wondering about this very thing. Now that Russia is bogged down in Ukraine, might this open an opportunity for the anti-Assad forces in Syria?

I know you asked the question over 2 years ago but it certainly looks like the answer is yes. Especially now that Israel has decimated Hezbollah.

Events in Syria and Georgia and elsewhere plus the collapse of the rouble show that Putin is shall we say rapidly sinking in the shit - yes Ukraine is having issues but Putins war has now developed multiple fronts and when you rely on Nth Korea for support (see below) and you are housing Assad and his family ( can an entire family fall out of a high rise window?) doesn't look good for Putin.

tractor protest?

If there is a country in the world that’s even more deserving of ridicule than Russia, it’s North Korea.

No mortar mowers?...

Sad to see those people waving to that circus of lies because they are brainwashed and have no free choice.

If Turkey is a secular state why do they support Islamist rebel groups in Syria. What are their objectives?

The anti Assad forces are mainly Islamic radicals such as daesh who despise the west and supporting them is like supporting Islamic state again .

Never change there ways daesh will always be daesh and first chance they get they will bring the war to Europe .

I cannot comprehend how Assad is about to be overthrown when "President" Assad was "elected" on over 95% of the popular vote .......
