Whether we/you like it or not, it’s always been the same also, that one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter.

Walking in another man’s shoes for a few miles to gain an understanding of of his perspective is not a major part of any foreign policy these days and perhaps never was either.
Particularly true when dealing with colonialism.
