T2 - Manchester Airport

Is everything finished now , I'm sure I read this was the first part of upgrades ?
 
I was working in the new T2 a couple of weeks ago and I'm left wondering how long it'll be before a member of the public breaks a leg by slipping on those High gloss marble tiles that surround the cafe area and I feel sorry for the cleaning staff because the sinks and taps in the toilets are of terrible design
When you wash your hands the water runs off behind the sink and not into it

True. Came back Monday, through witout a hitch
No problems going out either. However I would say they made us walk miles, maybe some of those moving walkways might help some. Nice to see Joseph Holts and 7 Brothers as the beerhouses. Still expensive breakfast but that never changes. Problem was dealing with the testing and all bureaucracy on a mobile beforehand. Filling in forms and having to present stuff at the airport. Took over a couple of hours to get to the gate with long queues coming home. But yes Terminal 2 is a decent experience.
 
Going out, how long did it take to get through check-in and security?

We're going out at 5.30pm. 1.30-4.30pm. A last min flight change meant we couldn't move the lounge later.
 
Does anybody know if you can still watch the planes from the south side of the airport?

I think you have to park up just by the roundabout on the road that goes under the runways and then walk along a path that follows the perimeter of the airport

We went to the viewing area a few months ago but that is now completely ruined by the VIP terminal
 
Nice space but thought there'd be more than 2/3 eateries. Has the pretentions of Heathrow without the substance. Much better than it used to be though.
 
Flew in/out of T2 a few weeks back going to Spain. Fantastic new terminal and very high end. Reminds me of W better version of Malaga airport. The food places are really good to with good options. I can highly recommend the breakfast options

You can. I cycle round there a lot, there’s loads of paths and trails to walk along and places to see the planes from.

Has the viewing park been ruined then? I used to stop off at the little cafe and ice cream van on bike rides but haven’t been in over a year…
 
I went up into the terminal the other day, looks smart up top, but not many shops, as for down underneath whoever designed it hasn't got a clue, badly designed, can't take the usual amount of trailers into it, the knock on effect it will take longer for you to get your bags, at least you can enjoy all the shiny stuff whilst you wait ,
