To be fair, you will run in to problems, no matter what tablets you use. They do not have the greatest OS optimised for such a function... yet.

That said, we are beginning to see web pages with inbuilt HTML5, like the Sky site, where you can bypass this annoying problem. Flash is virtually dead now.

I'm on my second ipad 2 in a year. The home button packs up. It is a known fault. Apple's replacement policy is second to none but it is nevertheless a design fault. Apple also refuse to implement EU law regarding warranties, only offering a 1 year warranty.

Okay, first things first; this is b*ll*cks.

If you are going to standard shops then you may be subject to this 'year' only. If you go to more specialised tech shops, you can bag a 2 year world wide warranty at £69.

In all form factors iOS devices are outperformed by phones/tablets that are both superior in terms of hardware specification and software functionality. That amazing Do Not Disturb function that Apple keep advertising on TV? Well it doesn't work properly on iOS (it doesn't turn off sometimes) and I've had it on Android for years. Every version is at least a generation behind the competition.

As for what I said about their declining market share, well just look at the numbers. Their market share in smart phones is now around half that of Samsung. They are also no longer the largest tablet vendor having been passed by Google, with Samsung and Amazon on the verge of doing so too.

It's a dated and overpriced ecosystem and it's going the way all their products end up going. Why do you think they had to be bailed out after Steve Jobs left the first time around? Because without Jobs' sales pitches people realised that they could actually get better for cheaper. It is true that the iPad still doesn't offer true 16:9, even after all it's rival and cheaper competitors pretty much do!! It still has a noticeable black border around the frame. It is an incredibly silly oversight.

I feel the major disadvantage of the Google Nexus 10, as compared to the Samsung Note 10.1, is that it does not have a stylus. So, in other words you cannot use it as a PA device, it's just purely an entertainment platform.
And the other thing is the lack of an memory upgrade option, though this is not a major issue. The functionality of the Nexus 10 is slightly inferior, but that's only because Samsung has highly customized the features of the Note 10.1, for ease of use by customers.

Otherwise, performance-wise, Nexus 10 is the best tablet currently available and cheaper than most other tablets. Given that Samsung themselves manufacture the Nexus 10, build quality would be on par with the Note 10.1.

Not sure why anyone would choose a closed source tablet like an I-Pad.You cant put your own movies and songs on,whats the point ?,if your loaded and don't mind paying through the nose for everything then fine it is alright for you.

My experience is people want a pad to put that nice supply of songs and movies from their personal PC on so they can take it on holiday with them.One that will play all audio , mpeg formats, also double up as an ebook reader totally open source.And do a bit of browsing from a Wifi hotspot.

Most people have state of the art mobile phones so a camera is not usually a prerequisite.I have never seen anybody taking holiday snaps with an I -Pad yet.

Me and the missus have one of these, they are less than £100.00 and does much more than all the pads on here

Not really sure what you're trying to upload, but for less than £100, you're going to be playing with an extremely poor kit with low processor power. It's only the Nexus 7 that stands up to scrutiny (at just over £100 in online stores) that uses the Tegra 3 quad core processor well in that build. For example, there is a Lenovo Idea Tab that uses the exact same processor and is p*ss poor in comparison, imo!

Cheaper than £100 is not recommended as you get what you pay for. My 3 year old has a similar priced model that plays films and music and it's just a basic machine.

The vast majority of these pads have similar processors and parts.The Apple Ipad has been dependent on Samsung components,you will find Samsung make a lot of parts for all these tablets.

Interesting. You are talking about the STANDARD year warranty that covers ALL pristine machinery. A year is the very least that can be offered. There's no law break, you goon.

I sell iPads all day long offering Apple Care that covers 2 YEARS, at the price I mentioned. It's seemingly exclusive to where I work, then.

Whilst that IS true, the mixing and matching of different components to make things cheaper, does not bode well for some companies.

Samsung are an in-house company, so there are no compatibility issues with the components used.

The new galaxy note 10.1 looks ridiculously good. Weighing up whether I 'need' one.

The dogs bollocks mate. I am not interested at all but Mrs Stan got a deal on one before Christmas and it is really good.

Miss Stan got a cheap 7" All winner for Christmas and this is pretty good as well, especially for £49. Does everything you would want.

If you're using it for work purposes, then I wouldn't look past the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.
