I'm debating with myself whether to take next season off as a fan. It's nothing to do with the present results (I was there when we were shit) but more a couple of personal reasons mixed in with one financial. However, there's my seasoncard to worry about. To renew or not to renew? That is the question.

What's the likelihood of getting another good seat in South Stand Upper 216 or 217 when applying again for the 16/17 season? I understand they sell out most years and I'm reliant on availability when I'm ready to buy again. I've got a great seat where I am and it took a while to squeeze in there. However, then there's perhaps £650 or so to pay for something I won't be using. I'm optimistic I could probably shift it for the Derby, Chelsea and Liverpool but then there's West Brom, Hull and Sunderland. If I upgrade to Platinum for Viagogo then there's something like a 6 game limit to sell.

Someone suggested to me that many existing seasoncard holders will relocate to the new 3rd tier for cheaper tickets but there's no guarantee. Has anyone ever left and come back a year or so later?

Why not see if a mate who can't go would like to pay 80% of the ST cost and have it for the season?

Once you give up on your season ticket you'll struggle to get another one plus when you look at the prices for individual games for cup games that to will put you off the loss of points too...

I din't think the cheap seats will be what people are expecting and demand entirely depends on how the team are performing.

The majority of the playing squad have took this season off, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

You may be able to sell it for the season for say £500. Keeps your cost low and keeps your seat.

A very good point. I have a mate who did that for the 13/14 season but then regretted not being there for when we won the league again. It's win win if I get some money back and someone else gets a seasoncard for cheaper than face value. I can't expect them to pay full price yet not own it.

I perhaps haven't explained myself but I do intend to turn up every now and again. I'll just hunt a ticket down from elsewhere if necessary because there's usually someone in my branch not going.

Cheers.
