I find all this talk of the club taking the fans for granted a little funny. Sometimes I think it's the fans that take city for granted.

Cost me upwards of about £2500 a year to take those fuckers for granted and I'm probably at the lower end of the spectrum when it comes to spending money on following us.

I think the relationship between the fans and club has drifted over the last few seasons. Numerous ticket price increases, a passionless manager, players looking like they're going through the motions etc. I don't want players to come and acknowledge us at away matches if they don't want to but they should want to. Equally, we should be getting behind the team and that seams to have got worse even at away matches. It's a bit of a chicken and egg scenario and I don't know how or where it started but I'm sure it helps results if we're all in it together. Hopefully with a clean slate and Pep in charge we can all be more enthusiastic next season.

The general complaints re ticket prices etc, imo is down to the fact we are now customers.

If that's how it is, then that's how it is, but then they are surprised when their customers act like customers & walk out after being served a load of shit for high prices. Suddenly we are expected to be 'fans' again & grovellingly worship these underachievers, waiting whilst they have their toenails done before they come out, & tell them serving shit is fine & we don't mind. And we will make them feel better about themselves.

Then as soon as we leave, we are back to being customers again.

As far as a 'connection' between players & fans, that will come back when we start using some players who have actually come through the club to fill the squad rather than using the chequebook for everything.

Vincent Kompany has already talked about this. He clearly understands there is something missing at the club, even though quite a few fans haven't noticed yet.

That will change imo. But the customer thing won't.

I see it as more of a landlord/tenant thing

Clever? Thanks but it's not particularly complex or profound. What I'm saying is sometimes, some city fans, are taking for granted what city have given us in recent years. That's all.

You can get a season ticket at the Ethihad for £299, which works out at £15 a game. with inflation this is more or less exactly how much you used to pay to get into the Kippax. You can hardly say you've been priced out .

With a huge waiting list and very few £299 tickets he won't stand much of a chance, loads of Blues have been priced out over the years

If he doesn't want to sit in the upper echelons of the third tier behind the goal then he has been priced out. The Kippax ran alongside the pitch and the comparison here is unfair. It was all about the atmosphere in there.

Most clubs don't really understand the fans and very few have a special relationship with them. If you go back to the days when we supposedly DID have a special relationship with the club, it was a little bit more desperation rather than the fact they liked us.We were on the bones of our arse and just relegated to the old third division and there was talk of the fans giving up on the club. The club had to bend over backwards to try and appease the fans and keep them onside and it worked to an extent.

The first year we won the title since the takeover was the last time I felt like the club and the fans connected as one. Mancini played a blinder in that run in when all looked lost after the defeat at Arsenal and you could feel the energy and good will as we went for it.Since then the suits have taken over and we are now 'customers' and we have 'Matchday experiences' and going to the game is akin to visiting
some mad hatters theme park pre game.

I have no idea if it will ever be the same again but it isn't just us every club is going through this.

Tickets are available so a chance is there. Like they were at the end of last season when I renewed onto a £380 ticket. do nothing and moan seems to be alternative counter argument. Good stuff [emoji1360]

This is where performance bonuses should be the heavier side of wage packets in football. Also I'm sure when they do sign, they're fully aware and agree to the ambition of the club and therefore will act accordingly and in a professional manner. Otherwise you are correct.

We are for big PL and CL games but are we for the rest? CL group games, League Cup games, etc don't attract tourists and they are pissing off too many long-term fans.
When we went to the third division the club was desperate to maintain the link; they aren't now, but the number of tourists will reduce gradually if Pep doesn't hit the ground running.
As fans we believe we need dialogue with the club, but they still see us as mug punters.
Sunday's mess could have been predicted; see the lap of appreciation against Norwich three years ago. The fans only want to see the first team (and not the players' wives and kids) after the final game and want to see them quickly.
The players should have been down the tunnel for a quick drink and back on the pitch in three minutes. If Arsenal were still out our lot should have done a clockwise lap to give the Arsenal players time to go.
The youngsters should have been paraded at half-time and the interview with the guy from the academy shown on youtube. You might want the fans to appreciate the stuff served up post match on Sunday, but it was never going to happen, especially after a draw.

Yes renewed, i did the same and got myself a £299 ticket, they went through a 14000 waiting list then to try to sell the rest of the tickets because most of them wanted the cheaper ones, i think if any of the cheaper tickets become available this year they will be taken by people relocating again.

Ditto apart from next season will be my last due to finances. Only giving it one more year due to Pep, I am really interested to see what he can do. Then I am out after 60 years of fantastic fun and feeling every emotion under the son.

Thinking the same way as you I am 61 costing me and the missus £1600 for our season tickets and there is a good chance I am going to get made redundant next week after 30 years, so a season of pep and I think that will be it
