Taking my lad to his first game

Not my daughters first game but first visit.
As it was…Boxing day 1999 rocked up unannounced at the main entrance a lovely bloke came out and told me to go round to the blue doors by the kippax and five minutes later the doors groaned open and in we went.
Can’t see that happening these days:-)

Took my lad to Brighton away last season aged 7. My mate took his lad a year older, veteran of several Wembley trips & couple of home games too (his first being a defeat of course...)who took my lad under his wing & my boy was hooked. Took the usual essentials, snacks, water, wipes, spare pants in the bag which the Brighton security waved through but it was getting in & his reaction to the noise of the away end; I had to explain it was a big party & everyone was mates & singing together. I sat him on one of the shelves & he took it all in his stride, he loved the big flag & Mahrez' goal in front of in the second half even if I had to deploy the Gameboy for a bit in the middle. What he particularly enjoyed was seeing us on motd next day & then telling all at school on Monday.
Any trip is a mission with bins of a certain age as you'll know, it's about the logistics of it & for the match there's a degree of 'dont tell Mum' so best of luck, really enjoying reading these.
