Just the same as the live TV games. I used to work away a lot, and said this before a match to the other lads (can't remember the teams), to be told I was just a biased City fan (I am, but so what!).Danny Higginbotham on now. Rooney is still top class, it's the players around him.
I'm still absolutely convinced that when anyone comes on they are told that they must say 'Manchester United' in full as many times as possible. There's just something not right about it.
After 3 minutes came the first reference, about a lad on one of the sides who had had a trial at Old Toilet when he was younger, followed 2 minutes later by another obscure fact about them, totally unrelated to the match. By the end of the game, there had been 6 such references, and I sat there with a smug expression. Even the token rag in the team (another armchair) had to agree with me.
So it's not just Talkshite, it's endemic within the media, and I suppose you've got to hand it to Dr. Goebbels and his team at OT for their expertise.
