Have I just misheard something.

Some "expert" on the Awksbeeeeeeeeeee and Jacobs show said "Manchester City were on their uppers, on the verge of going bust and in League 1 when they were taken over" and he then followed that up by saying Cambridge United were a better option for a takeover as Cambridge was a well known place worldwide and everyone knew what the city stood for.

My memory isn't what it used to be but I'm prettty sure we weren't in League 1

Only 9 years and 2 divisions out but the way other fans talk about us coming from nowhere you can see why someone who knows f*** all might assume that.

Only talkshyte could actually a) have some thick tw@t on saying that and then b) not challenge the oaf with some facts.....

It really is in a lower league of its own...

The journos on that station are just whores

Any reason why Cundys not on tonight? I missed the start of the Sports Bar but he did upset a few Liverpool fans last night.

He's probably still crying about his ex mrs on telly last night, bragging about all the money she spends.

No we weren't in League One so he got that completely wrong but after the affairs of Thaksin Shinawatra I think it's fair to say we were in a mess as has been well spoken about on here previously. As for speaking about Cambridge he wasn't making a comparison towards City he was just stating in his opinion they are ripe for a takeover and validated with his reasons why. Personally I can think of other lower league clubs with more potential but that's a different discussion.

Oh great fishing on that post.

Calling them journalists is in breach of the trades description act!

I've given up on them in the main. I was in a mate's car on Tuesday and heard Gough conversing with a Liverpool fan about the evening's encounter with Chelsea.

Gough told the scouser that Liverpool were the best team last season. But he didn't offer that as his own opinion, it was stated as fact. Well Darren, if you care to look again, you will find City won more league games than Liverpool last season, scored more goals, conceded fewer, gained more points, made it to the Carling Cup final and won it, proceeded to the knockout stages of the Champions League where we were eliminated by Barcelona, whilst Liverpool took a well deserved sabbatical from Europe.

And before anyone says, I did turn it off.

Anybody hear the Chavs whining tonight?
Heard one caller claiming there was an anti Chelsea agenda in the media... fair enough, as we feel the same... however he then went on to say that we NEVER get the media slagging us off - said we got away with criticism over youth pkayers coming through and the Lampard loan... WHAT?!?
I nearly crashed the car!

I heard him too. Apparently we do nothing for English players and he named a few, even Barry who won medals with us, but his best nomination was Sinclair. I guess that caller hadn't been a Chelsea supporter for a long time as his own beloved Jose had himself signed Sinclair and then sold him on after a series of loan deals. And while I'm on, earlier on this week in the aftermath of the Middlesborough debacle, there was a caller to Cundy and his rag co-presenter, who called himself a City supporter, yet this numpty went on to slag the club off, even going as far as suggesting that Aguero would be looking at what was out there with him and deciding he would want out. The call was ended there but I knew it was from a rag in disguise anyway. Anyone claiming to be a blue with the codename 'Bert' is a dead giveaway.
