Talksport

About 2.50pm yesterday they were discussing the special vip guests at the Community Shield. One was Ryan Rocastle, son of Rocky. I think it was Cundy who said what a great one club man Rocky was. Now surely he played around the same time.

Also Cundy thinks we will finish 4th this year as both Arsenal & the rags had better finishes to last season. Last i looked i thought we won the last 6 games!!!!!!!!!!!

No other premier league team won more than four games out their last six league games last season FFS

Chelsea finished WLDWWD - 11pts
City finished WWWWWW - 18pts
Arsenal finished WDDLWD - 9pts
Scum finished DDWLLL - 5pts (ha ha)
Tottingham finished WWLLDW - 10pts

So we won the April/May Premier League Title by 7 pts FFS with Leicester second with 13pts (WDWWLW)
 
Can't blame the media for not remembering we finished runners up last season when it's still not acknowledged on the honours list of either the OS or this one.

Just saying like.

Shows up the lazy "journalism" of the likes of Cunty and others - if one of them makes a statement - eg City will come 4th - they all just repeat it as gospel s you get bollox like this when he clearly just makes a statement to justify his feelings without any recourse to research - like wot a proper journo would do - and thus realise he is so wide of the mark. I am not saying he cannot hold that view about our eventual finish this coming season what I am saying is at least make sure the reasons you come to such a conclusion are based in fact.

Personally I think the rags will get relegated after vanNutjob is outed as an Alien from Mars in October and their season just falls to bits and in january Maureen will flit with Chelsea to the Bundesleague coz he wants a mid winter break. Fuck all research to back any of that up I just felt like saying it and qualified it with a bit of guesswork.

One fact though - Brenda will win fuck all with Loserpool
 
Never listen except when t'other half has it on in the kitchen. Not sure which of the two clowns they have on in the afternoon ( hawksby or jacobs) said it but according to him Looserpool will make a strong challenge for top 4 and guess which team he thought was the most likely to slip up to let them in. Answers on a postcard.
 
its just wishful thinking on their part. just don't tune in. do what I do, get the news, laugh at the topic heads up regarding Manchester united and switch off.

the sad part about all this is that we have football's leading product in this country. the whole world wants to know about the premier league and yet we don't have a serious, advert free, bias free, click baiting free broadcaster brave enough to put out a show. I mean a real show with real guests, and real phone ins and discussions with not a script in sight.
 
Had to listen to a few minutes of Brazil this morning. Discussing who would challenge Chelsea. It was Arsenal this, United that plus Liverpool the other. Then they go over for the latest betting odds ........

If only Betfair did radio stations.

Thr idea of listening to rolling sports news with some debate to it whilst in your car instead of listening to all the shite music stations should be a winner. Talk sport gets a monopoly over this as no one else seems to want a slice of the market, the only thing similar is 5live and their sports programs only appear on the weekends.

There is not one single show worth listening too on talk sport, the boiled bollock in the morning is piss poor researched stuff pandering to the rags driving to work, Colin Murray and Hawsbee and Jacobs is self indulgent ramble.

The only show worth listening to was Keys and Gray and they were just treading water till they got their next tv deal.

We shouldn't really get wound up about talk sport when the tv stations who screen the football into our living rooms can't do it in an objective way. They just have to follow suite and give us blanket coverage of the old sky 4, oh how they wish it must be 2004 and we were not a big pinging threat on their radar.

There doesn't seem to be much appetite for a dedicated sports news channel amongst the broadcasting companies. There must be a reason why it's viewed as a non-starter because you wouldn't imagine they'd be too concerned about the 'opposition'. Talksport bill themselves as the "biggest sports radio channel in the world" - I guess they're competing against themselves for that title (and they're still lucky to win it) because I don't know of any other in this country. Personally I'd enjoy listening to an intelligent, witty, up to the minute sports radio station hosted by professional, entertaining and reasonably impartial presenters featuring quality guests. So, pretty much the complete opposite of Talksport and Alan Brazil, Micky Quinn, Darren Gough, Georgie Bingham etc etc.

Predictably he came out with the favourite Talkport line of the moment "I think United will finish above City". They no longer ask can United win the league, it's always can United finish above City.

He says City won't win the league because they can't be trusted to get results away from home on a Tuesday or Wednesday night. Now, I thought that doesn't sound right so I just checked and in the two seasons under Pellers we've played 5 premiership away matches on a Tuesday or Wednesday night

Sunderland 1 City 4
West Brom 2 City 3
Rags 0 City 3
Spurs 1 City 5

They really know their stuff on that Station...

Good post and something hundreds of us have been hoping for a long time, but alas I fear it will never happen
 
whether somebody launches a serious alternative or not ( and they should ) fact is that its about time that the total disregard for the facts - number of wins, number of points scored etc etc - in the run in or the fact that Tia Maria has gone for a loss and the rags are NOT gonna buy Tranny etc etc are well and truly pointed out to the people who run these stations - they need to ask themselves are they paying good journalists rates of pay to good journalists? And if not could they get replacements in who could do a proper job and do it for less. These days the idea of getting a better job done for less is very appealing to management and the idea that half the wankstains on Talkshite could be let go coz they are useless would be very appealing.

I think there are quite a few we could mention that could be dismissed on capability failings for starters...................
