Talksport

He watched KDB storming off the pitch against Burton. Pep could have shut down the talk of any rift in the press conference rather than say if kev has a problem to see him them quoted something about respect Pep said in tonight's match programme.
This is where we go wrong with the press at times. I think we are far to passive again as you say he could have said there isn't a problem end of story. How many times do we see negative stories about us and our press department do or say nothing? What exactly do they do?

Just a thought.

Why don’t Talk Shite, etc mention West Ham, Spurs, OK it’s Wembley, Arsenal, and most other PL clubs when it comes to empty seats?

Most clubs suffer from this fan made up and obsessive empty seat subject/banter, yet City seem to be the only club linked with it.

We all know it was started by United fans to beat us with as they had nothing else left to beat us with.

After Sheikh Mansour bought the club, the 34 years went, the ticker banner came down, we beat them in the semi final of the FA Cup, have dominated them for 10 years, the trophies came rolling in, and Pep, the Worlds best Football Manager became City Manager, United fans had nothing left to beat us with.

The narrative has spread throughout football. I can accept fans taking the piss, it’s part and parcel of football banter, but what I don’t get is that radio stations, newspapers, ex-footballers, and football pundits are also wading in en-masse, targeting City, and only City, ruthlessly.

From reading the thread, as I refuse to listen to Talkshite anymore, they have made it an issue, and are targeting City fans directly. Last night Talk Shite should have been discussing the match, the teams performance, how we’re not letting Liverpool walk away with the title, yet all they can do is wind up City fans, ‘get them to call up to defend ourselves over empty seats’ and continue pampering to the listening Rag, Scouse(Liverpool), Cockney masses(Arsenal).
Rarely have talkragshite on more than 2 mins at a time, switched on when cooking/washing up etc & its either talkingragshite or slagging us off.

You are 100% right about the media slant taken but I was laughing my socks off driving home last night. I'd just missed Ashley, he was being thanked for his call as I got into the car but the following 'blues' over the next 30/40 mins where a strange bunch think if they weren't plants (drive from Huddersfiled/Gr Yarmouth to every home game & a couple of locals) they were certainly nothing like a normal City fan i refuse to believe that the most intelligent call came from the most un-scouse like dipper I've ever heard.

because i have 4 tickets and 3 people couldnt go .
you can just keep your blinkers on if you think there is not a problem but check the other forums and other posts and you will a lot of people are saying the same thing.
im going to bed now as i have to be up at half 3 for work.
na nite

Why do you care what other forums think?

Imagine going off what the likes of RAWK think and treating it as gospel.

Nothing to do with blinkers, absolutely hilarious that you’ve accused me of blinkers whilst in your last post you’ve claimed I think we’re the best fans in the world, when I never said anything like it.

I’ve just a realisation that getting 50,000 every week isn’t a problem in the slightest.

January is the poorest month for people and we’ve had 4 home games in less than a fortnight, which no other team has had all season.

The idiots guide to football is giving those who get more than most other clubs shit because their stadium is bigger, but then when Everton only get 37,000 seater stadium, the armchair fans don’t say anything as there’s less seats visible.

Wonder if Cundy can remember the last time he put his hand in his pocket and paid for a ticket to go to a football match ? , we might be the richest club in the world but our supporters definitely are not , we havent developed enough tourists yet , but no doubt our time will come , its the downside of the popularity contest called Premier League football, but also unfortunately a necessity if our club is to stay competitive
This is one of the only things that anyone daft enough to phone in should have been saying. The others were;
the nonsense we’ve created with the family stand and how that’s always going to struggle on a ‘school night’, especially 10 days after another game moved from a bank holiday to a ‘school night’.
It was also only confirmed as a Monday night kick off ONE WEEK before. If Wolves had drawn their cup game and not knocked Liverpool out, the game was moved to Sunday at 12.
I’d already booked leave for the Monday but my lad didn’t want to book a day off with no guarantee of the game being played so his season ticket wasn’t used. I’m sure lots of others were in the same boat.
Finally, taking the piss out of a largely working class fan base because they can’t afford to go to 4 home games in 12 days, is somewhat disingenuous.

It was a Monday night game, on tv, just after Christmas, after a run of home games. I reckon the crowd of c50k was pretty decent considering. What is this obsession of having a bum on every seat for every game? Local working people can't afford to go to every game shocker.
Our light blue seats and distance between rows makes empties stand out more than at other grounds too. Watched the Everton game on Sunday and there were lots of empty seats, but they weren't that noticeable.

Jesus. Calm down son.
8 hours later and your still angry.
I you can't see there is a problem with people not attending andthen that's blinkered in my view

If you , and many others can't see there is a problem with our support then that's your opinion. My opinion is that me...and others...couldn't even give tickets away last night so there is an issue why people don't want to go to the game. If you think that's fine well that up to you.

How can you possibly know if I’m angry?

Calling someone angry on this forum is the shithouse way out of a debate you’re losing. It happens in every thread.

Have you thought it may just be your mates? How many people did you approach?

We don’t have a problem, just as every team in the world who regularly gets 50,000+ doesn’t have a problem.

Because you’re too much of a wimp to read bitter comments on Scouse, Rag forums, don’t pin it on the rest of us.

Nicky Quinn what a twat....

Didn't believe that our fans might not be able to afford 3 home games on the trot.

When I last travelled up for a game Liverpool were at home so bumped into them at service stations on the M1 and M6 not many Liverpool fans spoke with a Liverpool accent most of the were southern accents....were as most of us speak with Manc accents. Times will change and we might get a bigger southern following so empty seat might end ...

Horse Abuser is bricking us and the possibility losing the title.

All well and good kicking off about Vinny. Does the stupid scouse twat realise he's our 4th choice defender and wouldn't have been has a hardship had he been banned?

The overnight show started talking about it and they had lots of sensible callers from other clubs ringing in saying majority of City fans can't afford to pay for all the games and want us to win the title. The host even said there's a big difference in Attitude between City fans and Scousers. He said City fans would be happy with 2nd and a domestic cup as they we are grounded and have a feeling of gratitude at witnessing their team become what it has. The dippers come across as self entitled. It was almost as though the next call was set up as a giddy Scouser came on and called city a small time club...

Maybe somebody should ring in and tell him that City get higher attendances than Liverpool and that the Liverpool Echo exposed that there are thousands of empties at Anfield most games. But then why waste time trying to educate the terminally stupid?

Personally I don't care about how many fans we have or get in the stadium. What's it got to do with me never mind radio stations and fans of other teams. What I care about (about City that is) is being successful where it matters; the best football ever played in the UK (and possibly in Europe), winning trophies, a squad yes a squad not just one key player who could walk into any team in the Premier League. Why should I care that it will take a generation long period of success to grow our attending fan base and the overseas followers. Let the radio and tv know nowts tut tut all they want I will carry on enjoying City while they grind their anguish ad nauseam.

In my book the epitome of small time is getting 'Liverpool Premier League Champions 2013-14' T-shirts printed before the end of the season and repainting the team bus with 'European Champions 2018' and 'We've won it 6 times' before the final had even been played.

Shouty man carrying on the empty seat debate.
it was only a few weeks ago that Spurs had 35k for a home game?
I see multi millionaire Gary Lineker also commented on it but not sure when he last paid for a ticket/travel to a game.
When is the attendance trophy awarded??

Last Rags home game. They win it every year as 655 million attend every match.

Semi final or the league cup at Wembley with two PL London clubs and Spurs only sold 44k seats? At Wembley on a Sat against Burnley Spurs sold 41k seats. All clubs struggle to sell some games out. It isn't a City problem. Talk sport like to pick up and try and cause division to get fans to ring in. This week it was Citys empty seats the week.before it was no one wants Liverpool to win the PL.

Here’s and idea play the games on a Saturday at 3pm every week and it will be packed, stop changing the fixtures at the last minute to pander to TV, have 1 game a week not 3, reduce prices for everyone, have safe standing but mos5bof all turn off Talkshite.

Agreed, this fixture could have been changed as late as last week had Wolves Liverpool been a draw. Not surprised if those who have to make decent travel to the game didn’t take the risk.

Ground seemed fairly full to me, except some in the family stand. The lad I went with normally goes with his lad, but he’s 6, so said it’s too late to take him & it’s his own football training. So it’s a lose lose there.

If the family stand was full, we’d get blamed for tiredness in local schools or cruelty to children..
