Even worse to contemplate is the influence the paper seems to have on these readers and the knock on way that can affect politics etc.

I've started listening to Talkshite 2 which seems more intelligent. Maybe Rupert is turning Talkshite into The Sun and its Sister station The Times.

For me listening to Talkshite was like following England, both pointless and causing unwelcome aggravation. I gave up listening to this shite months ago and the England team following the last World Cup and feel much the better in both cases.

The only time I listen is when I'm on a long drive down South and it really is comedy gold

If anyone ever challenges me over something that's spouted on Talkshite, I say "Please tell me that you don't take that anything on there seriously!" and leave it at that

I can't remember which order it was in, but one day, he was saying what a good thing the loan system was, and either the previous day or the day after, he was saying it was a disgrace that clubs like Chelsea and City could loan out so many players at once.

I've heard them do it in the space of ten minutes, they propose something ludicrous and in the course of babbling on it dawns on them how ludicrous it is, they then end with something like..."it's interesting" meaning the opposite is true, or "I can see both points of view" which means we're gobsmackingly wrong, or it's "certainly a talking point" which means it isn't, as it's as plain as the nose on your face we're wrong.

After being axed by the beeb, though, where on earth can he get a media job?

He still does their TV darts coverage and they miss a trick if they don't get him back on 5Live or MOTD2. If BT sport gave him his own Saturday morning pre match show it would piss all over fletch and sav in their ratings.

Exactly right. Our owner only takes money out of the club in management fees and dividends, whereas the saintly owners of the rags pump money in.
