Taylor for the Liverpool game

Ten years ago i might have agreed with you (although it would have been closer to 50:50 than a 100% landslide). Now i don't know a single Rag who wants us to win the title over Liverpool. A couple of my mates watched the Prem game we played at Anfield last season in a pub in Chorlton and all the Rags in there were cheering Liverpool's goals, to a man.

You only have to listen to United fans at any game. They've got more songs about City than we have ourselves! Don't ever really hear them singing about Liverpool unless they play them.

On Taylor though, apart from one horrendous game he had when we played Chelsea, he's always ref'd our games well.

You purged the memory of the twat writing Fabian Delph’s name down on the back of a yellow card at Wigan and then swapping it for red after their players surrounded him?! And he was pretty shit at home to Leicester the year they won the league too......

Less issue with him refereeing this than the Derby. He shouldn't be allowed to officiate in any games that directly or indirectly impacts us or united, but it's clear the FA don't give a shit about that. His refereeing ability has always been on the poorer side in comparison to the rest of the refs but nowadays the standard has dropped so much he's actually one of the better refs. Hopefully Pep will come out pre match and again say he will do his job as millions are watching, take the 20k fine and ensure were given a fair crack. Unfortunately, until next season and VAR is introduced we are vulnerable to being screwed over by refs as we have done already this season but so is everyone else (although liverpool have benefitted hugely so far)

its an awful appointment, just heaps pressure on themselves, if he actually awards something that leads to liverpool loosing, their be a candle shortage as the bent ref from Greater Manchester helps city.

It amazes me that it seems to be too difficult for PGMOL to avoid geographical conflicts when assigning referees. Two North West teams shouldn't have a North West referee, it's that simple.

I think PiGMOL don't have any difficulty. They simply ignore geographical conflicts on the grounds that they don't exist. And Cheshire borders both Gtr Manchester and Murkyside so any ref from Cheshire is gonna be as even-handed as an ambidextrous juggler!

The funny thing is as a rag he might actually be even handed. Would it have been too hard to assign say, Kevin Friend though? Midlands referee, Leicester fan, no conflict of interest.
