You joke but he was rather popular after the 2019 World Cup.

But for whatever reason things went bad, I think players and media outlets turned on him after the 7 losses in 11 games. Then he announced he'd leave in Summer 2021 but actually left 6 months early to be with his mate, which a lot of people considered a bit of an insult on his part.
