Team to face Blackburn

with our current squad I would go with

GIVEN

Zabaleta Dunnie Ned Bridge

Ireland Nigel Barry

Tevez RSC Robinho

starting 11.

Depending how things are going I would bring on SWP for whichever of the central three aren't going well and go more 4-4-2.

Then throw Ade and Petrov on for Tevez and Robbie with 20 left

Yes I agree in part with this but Dunne won't be on first team I know you said with what we have currently but someone will be coming before then I'm sure. I think the ability to push Ade and Petrov on for Robbie and Tevez is possibly unlikely. More likely to sacrifice De-Jong for the last part of a game and put on Ade or SWP then swap Robbie out for Petrov if it still hasn't worked. End up with a more conventional 4-4-2 with either Ade and RSC up front or Ade and Tevez up front and SWP and Petrov on the wings.

Lescott looks on his way. Would you drop Dunne and go Toure/ Lescott?

I love Dunnie, but the losing mentality of the team needs to change. Barry can take the captancy.

1 more creative midfielder for me and it will be a top 4 finish!

---------Given
Richards Dunne Ned Bridge
----Ireland---Barry
---Tevez-------Robinho
--Adebayor--Santa Cruz
4-2-2-2

its what Manuel Pellegrini used at villareal and what he plans to use at real madrid, works really well and i think we have the personnel to use it
stevie and barry play box to box (stevie can still be a playmaker from back there)
tevez and robbie roam whilst one striker stays central the other plays off him

I wish!

Hopefully:

--------------------Given--------------------
Richards------Toure------Onuoha------Lescott
-------------------de Jong-------------------
-----------Barry-------------Ireland----------
-----Tevez----------------------Robinho-----
------------------Adebayor------------------

Subs:

Taylor
Zabaleta
Dunne
Bridge
Wright-Phillips
M.Johnson ** Hopefully doughnut boy will lose some weight before the new season.
Santa Cruz

A truely unbelievable group of players...i reckon however Hughes needs to sign another defensive midfielder to cover for de Jong. Yes...yes KOMPANY. But he'll more than likely start every game at center back. Someone like David Dunn from Blackburn would do...he isnt the best no but he'd do the job.

Well RSC is still injured. He missed most of last season, has not played at all in preseason and Hughes said after the Barnsley game he is some way off.....

So He wont be in the squad for the blackburn game almost certain.

I'm wondering... City have always made us get our hopes up and then we get let down. But I don't know if Hughes will keep them all happy and it will backfire and then we'll get proper slagged off all other fans and then I'll slit my wrists. ! :(. So really I don't want this to backfire like it always has done.
