Friday night could be the straw that breaks the camels back for me. The only games I can do in a day are Sat 12.45 and 3.0 KOs, check the hotel rates for Fri and Sat nights in town compared to Sun Mon Tue Wed nights. 2 or 3 Friday games would cost me 300 plus a season.
Bills point about keeping night games local is one the TV companies should take on board.

Agreed - common sense should prevail and Bill's suggested solution is simple enough.

That said, as I live 'down south', like Palace on a Monday, I fully expect to be the beneficiary of the usual approach of the TV companies - only interested in the 'prime game' on a given Friday.

Everyone's work schedule is different nowadays. I guess it's the way the world is changing. Maybe we could do a poll of people's preferences, it may be interesting.
Out of 0 to 10 ( 0 being impossible to go or watch and 10 being ideal, would always go and suits my social life) , mine would be:
Friday 8pm - 3(never go unless a biggy, but good for tv)
Saturday 12.45pm - 7
Saturday 3pm - 8
Saturday 5.30pm - 6
Sunday 1.30pm - 4
Sunday 4pm - 6 (perfect for tv, tricky for me to go)
Monday 8pm -9 (no work for me)
Midweek tue/wed - 7
Thursday (God forbid) - 4 ( Dominoes league - sad I know)

The way some people are talking, you'd think Friday night football was an entirely new concept to City fans but it's far from it. We played plenty of Friday night games, both home and away, between 1996 and 2002 when we spent most of our time outside the top flight. Off the top of my head I can remember games at Norwich, Bradford, Huddersfield, Fulham, Darlington, Stoke, and Wolves all played on a Friday night. I fully appreciate that it doesn't suit everybody's schedule but it beats Monday nights hands down for me.

Germany, Scotland and France play on Fridays, as do The Championship and League 1.

Personally I think it will be fun, finish work the straight out for something to eat and a few pints. Then on Saturdays you can sit back and watch The X-Factor.

I recall a lot of the friday games mentioned earlier and most of my memories are of fucking awful traffic jams on the way there. A definite no from me.

Friday night football is a no for me . Travel up the M6 any day is bad but Friday afternoons are impossible. Can't even catch the train as no trains back south after the game !

The tv companies are missing a trick here, they could put a game on for Saturday mornings - 10am - would get great viewing figures in the far east which is the biggest market there is. The other option worth considering is Saturday evening - 8pm - no traffic jams beforehand & roads nice and quiet for travelling home afterwards - and a great viewing time for our burgeoning US market. I'm sure its only a matter of time before the EPL and the tv companies look to exploit these two tasty slots.
