television dates

I assume you mean more convenient for you. Otherwise i cannot think of a practical reason why 5.30 or 12.45 are more convenient.

3pm is right in the middle of the afternoon.
5.30pm game is great as you have loads of time in the day to get things done, or if you want a beer before the match you can get into town at a reasonable hour instead of 11am for a 3pm kick off.

might suit you but I find 5:30 a right ball ache of a time, wastes a day as you are waiting for kick off, and it only leads to meeting earlier and being more lubricated at kick off, 12:45 gives you no time at all it's a saturday and a lie in is nice, much prefer 3pm kick offs, Saturday lie in a hearty breakie meet friends midday for pre-match, and plenty of time after the match before my last train for a few beers and a scran.

for the Sunday games 4pm prefered as for Mondays stupid idea that should be scrapped

are you really that stupid or are you here to cause trouble?
posters have been discussing the dates the games will be moved on to so they can sort out travel, so what are you prattling on about?

and as you only joined this year how could you have

unless you have been previously banned of course?
because the previous thread i was referring to was started last week.....

I used to have to work Saturdays. Missed almost entire seasons when 3pm Saturday was the norm. I would have been ecstatic if there had been a few Sunday or Monday games

As I said, you meant that you find it more convenient. Personally I find Saturday 3 pm more convenient. Still plenty of time for a few drinks before or after (unlike the earlier kick off) and gets me home to me family at a more reasonable time than a later kick off. I can't make midweek evening games at all.

However, I guess a variety of times suits a wider audience as it allows people to at least be able to attend a few games who otherwise might not be able to due to work or other commitments.

Bit controversial maybe but I think the Premier League should not have ANY games on Saturday at 3. Leave that to the football league and non-league. Premier should be Sunday and maybe Monday night. Saturday only for champions league teams playing the following Tuesday. (Could be the 1245 and 1730 games).

The 3pm kick off in this country will soon be a bygone era. It's been a stalwart for years. Traditionally it has always fit into the working mans week. It was always socially convenient.

As more and more sponsors come aboard and the popularity of the PL becomes more and more global, certainly in Europe, then the KO times will have to change. Working patterns and the climate on the continent has dictated their kick off times. Sponsors pay out for the viewing figures and 3pm on a Saturday just doesn't suit working Europe. It's a necessary evil and whilst I don't fully agree with the principals it's something that needs to happen if we want remain the best league on the planet.

Besides, I'd be all in for a Friday night. Maybe a bit later, 8:30 or thereabouts. Top banana is that. Straight into town after the footy.

Friday traffic starts getting busy from midday, so the m6 is going to be nightmare to get through for any home or away fans, might have to set off Thursday night to guarantee getting to somewhere like Bournemouth on a Friday night

Jesus h christ, lets just play at 4.00am for the yanks or midnight for the asian market, football 3pm saturday all day,i know we are governed by sky and money, but why would you choose to play on a monday night ????

We should always play Saturday or Sunday. It's still the time most people are off work. It's also the best time for travel (not that sky care) it's much quieter on the roads and trains. Friday is a big no no for me, not that I can't make the games myself, I can, but can you imagine the fans that have to travel? Nightmare.

Correct. Due to work and the travel involved, I can only consider saturday games, ideally the 15:00 and 17:30 kick offs. Not everybody lives within an hour's drive of the ground.

unfortunately the price paid for these tv deals, as per usual no account given to the supporters who make the effort

i accept this totally. my point would be for the powers that be just to have some commonsense when choosing games. like monday night let it be spurs v qpr or villa v stoke and not swansea v newcastle and the like. same with new years day etc. what a blockbuster it would be for the tv companies if city played utd. ok their fans have to travel from London but fuck em.

agree mate entirely, not enough consideration given to the paying fan, last season palace away on a monday night was a disgrace
