Tennis Thread

Brilliant. Wished I'd watched it last night (only just realised bloody Prime show this).

Agree with the breath of fresh air for tennis. Never mind her fearless, technical skills, what vitality too.

Sensational.

Both girls are running hot, maybe Emma slight underdog, just because the other girl has beaten some tougher opponents.

I thought Sabalenka would chew Radacanu up in the Final, so Fernandes will be difficult.

All the same, Emma might do it again and turn it all to her advantage, she just needs to go for it and also hope the pressure on the other girl gives her some cheap points.

What an amazing achievement. She will also be a massive threat on the courts in Oz, which are also very fast.

But Emma trounced her 2 years ago in straight sets. Emma has to be favourite

Fav to win, 2 unseeded young girls, seems we're moving out the old guard and these 2 if they get it together could be at the top for years & years.

Whoever 'sorted ' Emma out mentally after her issues at Wimbledon should be on a 10% bonus.

I'm sure 20 years from now, that will be one of those ultimate pub quiz questions who did she beat in the first Qualifying round!(Bibiane Schoofs). I'm showing my age but I recall Boris Becker going on a similar run at Wimbledon when he first started, although I don't think he went through qualifying first.... Anyway he didn't end up having a bad career!

These are her results from qualifying to today. It’s one thing to have never dropped a set, but look at the utter domination. Not even one tie break. Madness. And her worst 1st set was a 6-3. Fast starter!!

6-1 6-2
6-3 7-5
6-1 6-4
6-2 6-3
6-2 6-4
6-0 6-1
6-2 6-1
6-3 6-4
6-1 6-4

Absolutely brilliant,fair play to her

I'm even more impressed she seeks her inspiration from Henman and not that guy from Scotland.

Hope she wins the final, but it would be very typically British to become the bridesmaid having got this far, like them donkeys at Wembley in the summer.

But fingers crossed she comes through victorious
Seeks inspiration from a guy that hasn't won Wimbledon vs guy that has. Flawed logic.
