Wonderful news to wake up to. A rookie, a qualifier, a teenager, a flawless score record and a first grand slam final, if you made a film of this they'd laugh at you.

I haven't seen her opponent play but just have a feeling it will be a different kind of match for her and nerves may kick in at some point, but it's going to be special whatever happens. Can't wait.

Sensational.

Both girls are running hot, maybe Emma slight underdog, just because the other girl has beaten some tougher opponents.

I thought Sabalenka would chew Radacanu up in the Final, so Fernandes will be difficult.

All the same, Emma might do it again and turn it all to her advantage, she just needs to go for it and also hope the pressure on the other girl gives her some cheap points.

What an amazing achievement. She will also be a massive threat on the courts in Oz, which are also very fast.

Well done Emma, now come in for your tea, then do your homework. Early to bed tonight, school day tomorrow.

Will be great to have a female British tennis grand slam winner.
On the other hand if she doesn’t win, she’ll be a Canadian, Romanian, Chinese loser ;-)

Amazing result. This girl has the world at her feet.
The Women’s game is far more open than the Men’s at the minute and thus more enjoyable. Even more so with a Brit doing so well.
Would love to see Jo Konta get back to form too.
How dare Emma put a cloud over fake Ron’s second debut for the Rags.

Absolutely brilliant,fair play to her

I'm even more impressed she seeks her inspiration from Henman and not that guy from Scotland.

Hope she wins the final, but it would be very typically British to become the bridesmaid having got this far, like them donkeys at Wembley in the summer.

But fingers crossed she comes through victorious

A breath of beautiful fresh air that is providing the Nation with another timely lift.

She looks fearless and is playing with a freedom her current standing allows.

Win or not in the final, she is big time now.....and the expectation at future events will be huge.

Brilliant. Wished I'd watched it last night (only just realised bloody Prime show this).

Agree with the breath of fresh air for tennis. Never mind her fearless, technical skills, what vitality too.

But Emma trounced her 2 years ago in straight sets. Emma has to be favourite

I'm sure 20 years from now, that will be one of those ultimate pub quiz questions who did she beat in the first Qualifying round!(Bibiane Schoofs). I'm showing my age but I recall Boris Becker going on a similar run at Wimbledon when he first started, although I don't think he went through qualifying first.... Anyway he didn't end up having a bad career!

These are her results from qualifying to today. It’s one thing to have never dropped a set, but look at the utter domination. Not even one tie break. Madness. And her worst 1st set was a 6-3. Fast starter!!

6-1 6-2
6-3 7-5
6-1 6-4
6-2 6-3
6-2 6-4
6-0 6-1
6-2 6-1
6-3 6-4
6-1 6-4

Seeks inspiration from a guy that hasn't won Wimbledon vs guy that has. Flawed logic.
