Google “Raducanu current year record” and compare her to any other first year pro you like. She is the tennis equivalent of, say, a 19 year old footballer who scores a hat trick on his debut but is not a world beater immediately after. Some make it, some don’t. Patience is a virtue.
Yeah Shearer springs to mind there

Most players find the first year full time on the circuit pretty daunting. She has done as well as most. It’s from now onwards that we can make a judgement as to how good she is.
Chopping and changing coaches has done her no favours and she needs to settle her arrangements. She has real talent, so I expect her to improve over the next 12 months.
She turned pro in 2018.

So?

@KS55 didn't say anything about the year she turned pro, he's talking about her first full year on tour.

They are not the same thing.

Nadal turned pro in 2001. He played 0 tournaments in 2001, 1 in 2002 and his first full year on the tour was 2004.

The reason some players turn pro at 16 is to get support from their association, who can then see they are investing in someone who is committed to play the game full time.
Raducanu, supported by the LTA, played no tourney in 2018, 2019, 2020.
Support is usually free coaching and small expenses. Maybe some kit sponsorship.
Think of EDS Scholarship for footballers.

Plenty are 100% convinced she won’t make it without reason.. unless they have an underlying issue with her which could be 1) she represents Britain 2) jealousy 3) young female 4) her success 5) her skin colour

Yes. I detected maybe some unwarranted issues with her. I think she’ll be ok.

Draper with a very good win (6-4 6-4 6-4) v Auger-Aliassime in the second round

Evans and Norrie both favourites to join him and Murray in Round 3

Serena has officially retired. Margaret Court won one more Grand Slam singles title than Serena, but in an age where competition was much thinner. Thus Serena said she wished she had been the GOAT.
You are, Serena, you are.
Simply the best.

Certainly one of the greats but she seems to be dressed more like a ballroom dancer than a tennis player recently. What gives?

Anyhow good luck in your retirement Serena it will be a while before we see anyone at your level.

Iga Świątek added another title to her brilliant season with a third Grand Slam.

Ons Jabeur and Casper Ruud go 0-2 in GS finals this year.

I was knackered yesterday so only managed to stay up for the first set, but great victory for Carlos Alcaraz.

US Open champion and world #1 at the age of 19 - Spain has a new tennis hero and he has been fantastic to watch this season.

Great final four for an ATP 500 in Astana:

Rublev - Tsitsipas
Djoković - Medvedev
