Balti said:Yep Wolves 37% of last Premier League game attendance
Nothing new in this
Following football is an expensive hobby during a tough recession and a third round home replay against Leicester or Doncaster is hardly one to set the pulse racing for many
Early round cup games need to be really really cheap as chips with lots of loyalty points if you want to see bigger attendances (and encourage new fans)
Not rocket science
Forget City and Wolves...take a look at other attendances this week-crowds of four hundred turning up to see a scottish cup match at Stenhousemuir; 1300 at Morton for another 4th round match..Kilmarnock,currently 4th in the scottish premier attracted just under 5,ooo against hearts..Dumbarton got 350 in to see Alloa in the second division.
Australia attracted under 4,000 for their asia cup international match..Rochdale just cleared 2,000 for their match against Bournemouth,on same night as us....
People are struggling to find the cash for football everywhere-i can only think its the younger posters, without mortgage, family and other commitments who seem a little cut off from reality and moan about poor attendances.
How many of the 2.000 redundancies announced by Manchester city council at the start of last week directly affect city fans? How many will indirectly affect city fans -football isn,t cut off from the rest of the universe-there,s a recession on and possibly we should take in the front pages of a decent newspaper and experience the real world instead of panicking over weather the ground is full or not.
