Saw this on the news today. A guy threw petrol bombs at the migrant processing centre in Dover, then drove to a petrol station and killed himself. Totally bizarre. You'd think if he was going to kill himself he'd have planned a more effective attack ( Not that I'm advocating he should have) As I lived in Dover for five years and was a deckhand on the hovercraft for a while, quite close to where it happened, it peaked my interest. Strange case.

Lots and lots of right wingers on twitter blaming the immigrants and the government for this, saying it was inevitable people would start taking things into their own hands. How can you be so far gone down the daily mail rabbit hole to condone this? It's not just a few people either.

Sounds like the sort of place where the bouncers throw you into the pubs, not out of 'em!

It was a bit like the wild west at times lol. Typical small town, population 40,000 at the time with lots of people passing through. Oh and to add to the mix a garrison of squaddies were stationed there too. When I was there it was the Irish Rangers and then the Para's.

Those Irish are the worst, they'd start a row in an empty phone box.

;-)

And the Para's are unlikely to take a backward step!

These people are far more right wing the the Daily Mail.
They're actually not though. This is a tweet from Kelvin Mackenzie

While it's clear the man who threw 3 petrol bombs at a migrant centre in Dover and then killed himself was deranged, the real story is of great tensions in the town among worried residents. Who can blame them? Another 990 illegals arrived yesterday. Rishi must stop the tide.

Rishi can't do much if the French won't do anything.

Sadly there is lots and lots of disinformation online these days and that's on top of the mail/express etc fanning the flames.

Just the other day someone on my twitter timeline liked a post about how much Asylum seekers receive, it was total nonsense and I could tell straight away, but lots of people believe this stuff.
