I'm looking at upgrading my old Hitachi 32''CRT t.v for a Samsung 40'' LCD 6 SERIES .
If i'm going to get a Full HD t.v then only having about 6 HD channels on my V+ box is pretty shite , so i've been looking to get Sky HD/broadband/phone . It works out approx the same price , maybe a tenner extra , but what puts me off is the Sky broadband speed . My mate who lives around the corner from me gets the Sky unlimited package with the broadband and he says he never gets anything over 5 mb/s .
If i get Sky HD , plus a standard box upstairs , but keep Virgin broadband/phone it's going to cost me nearly £25 a month more than what i'm paying now ( so basically it's £25 p/m for the privilege of having a few more HD channels )
Decisions , decisions ?
Does anyone get close to 20Mb with Sky unlimited ?
The only thing stopping me getting Sky HD is the broadband. The last time I had Sky I was on 8mb and I was lucky to get 1.2mb on a good day.
The extra HD channels aren't worth the extra £25 per month or the loss of genuine 20mb broadband.
The only plus side to the sky package is football first match choice.
Exactly what i was thinking Stony . Rather keep my 20mb than have a few extra HD channels . The SD on the Series 6 is suppose to be good anyway ? It's the HD on Sky Sports for football , i feel like i'm missing out , especially with the World Cup coming up this summer .
