Tevez and Aguero

Since the Newcastle away game on May 6th, Aguero + Tevez has been the starting partnership in 11 premier league games. In ONLY THREE of those games were City winning when the partnership was disrupted by substitution (normally by taking off Tevez).

Those who cite the total number of goals scored by Tevez and Aguero when they start together never mention that 9 of those goals came against Norwich and Aston Villa.

Tevez rarely passes to other strikers and then normally does so only if he sees a return pass in the offing. And that includes freezing out his Argentine 'pal'. I can recall Tevez creating clear-cut chances for Milner, Richards and Zaba. But when has Tevez created clear-cut scoring chances for Aguero? In contrast, for example, after Aguero came on in the 81st minute in the recent Fulham game, he was put clear through twice by Dzeko.

You may be onto something there! I love Tevez's work rate but he is just a tad too selfish when other strikers have a clear shot. I think this and the fact that we just don't whip crosses in like we did last year is why we aint scoring as freely.

Tevez has been poor for all but the first month of the season. Aguero has been hot and cold. Every time he looks like he's back to his best, he gets injured

I would have given balotelli a run,but maybe he wasn't doing it on the training ground. Too late now

I think they're both more suited to a quick tempo. The way we've played for most of the season has been slow and predictable giving teams who park the bus chance to re-organise and nullify our attacks.

The key to last season was how quickly we went forward particularly on the counter. We look sluggish, clueless and one dimensional.

Mancini/the club changed something with our tactical approach to games from last season and it needs to be rectified before it is well and truely too late.
