Tevez fined 4 weeks wages / going to sue (merged)

Manchester City's Carlos Tevez has one foot in Corinthians, says president
Andres Sanchez revealed that the controversial frontman is on the verge of making a move back to Sao Paulo, on the day his punishment from City was confirmed

Corinthians president Andres Sanchez has affirmed that Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez is on the verge of rejoining the Brazilian giants, stating that the player's new transfer value must reflect the controversies that have beset the Argentine in the last two months.

The Timao have been long-term admirers of their former player, and attempted to sign him in the summer transfer window before being scared off by the transfer tag put on his shoulders in England.

With relations having disintegrated between player and club since his alleged refusal to come off the bench against Bayern Munich, however, Corinthians has redoubled its efforts and Sanchez believes that this time it has an excellent chance of success.

"Tevez has one foot in Corinthians, even if a lot of people don't believe it," the president told reporters while speaking at a football seminar in Sao Paulo on Tuesday.

The Brazilians would aim for a move in January in time for the 2012 season, as they prepare now for a final tilt at the Brasileirao for the current term.

Sanchez also stated that Manchester City could not expect the same money for their man that it proposed in August, and had a specific figure in mind.

"He is not worth 40 million euros any more," the Santos supremo claimed. "Now you would pay around 18 million euros, after all the trouble he has faced in England."

Tevez learned of the punishment for his Champions League transgression on Tuesday, and was fined four weeks' wages by Manchester City.

Nobody is disputing that the Tevez camp have been shit stirring, its just that a little more PR savvy from our side would have made them look even bigger twats than they already are.
I can't think how they could possibly look bigger twats than they do.
Lol. Trust me, my imagination can. I'd have loved to have seen them trying to shit stir whilst City just played it extremely cool.
There's nothing better than seeing one side spout off in an argument when you know that the ace service is yet to come from the other side of the court.
It's gone to far for that now. As far as I'm concerned City have been nothing but dignified throughout, mirroring the personality of our owner.
Please don't anyone think that this is not being called from the very top.
If he's happy I'm happy.

Trouble he has faced?? How about caused?

I had a feeling when all his childish behaviour started that he's doing it to the wrong club. It's obvious that he won't stay at a club for longer than 2 years. Even the ratboy neville said that leading up to the end of his 2nd year at the sty he wasn't arsed in training. It's the 5 year contract he wants, not the 5 year stay. Every other club he's been at has not been able to afford the hit financially and all the shit that kia and tevez cook up together if they don't get their own way.
We, as a club, can afford the hit and have shown him that if he fucks about, we just replace him in the starting line-up and replace him as captain. This has angered him to the point of a refusal to play. This hasn't worked in his favour either so, in an obvious rage, the "last act of the scoundrel " is to go to court. This won't work either. I genuinely believe that in the end, tevez will end up a broken man. Kia will have taken him full circle, from the slums of apache to CL, FA cup and EPL winner to a complete outcast and figure of ridicule.

It would clearly be a serious defamation if Tevez had not refused to play, just to warm up (and Tevez could probably sue a lot of media too for repeating what Mancini had said and commenting on it as fact). It would reflect very badly on his professional reputation (as indeed it has). The club's statement (1) suggests that they have found that he refused to play, not just to warm up.

Suing Mancini (rather than just appealing the findings and/or punishment) would put the case in the civil courts, so any evidence would become public (if it came to court). But it would not come anywhere near a court before the January transfer window.

This.

Also even if he tried to sue Mancini for defamation there's a defense of truth of his statement, or reasonable belief of the truth of the statement by Mancini which means it would go nowhere and just harm Tevez's rep and wallet even more. It would also drag the whole thing out for well past the end of season if it even made it to court, which shouldn't be in his interests seen as realistically he's not getting first team action until he transfers.

It's just Kia spouting BS as per

Still amazes me that a footballer can seemingly WANT to ruin his career so badly. Pathetic.

I would no be be upset if this were to become a long drawn out court case. Let's see who runs out of money first.

Such a waste

Carlos I doubt you will ever read this, given that in the last 5 years you’ve been living in this country you couldn’t be bothered to even learn a rudimentary working knowledge of the language spoken by the 65 million people you live with on this isle, and more importantly, not to mention the 48,000 people who watch you act out their dreams every other week

If only....

You’d had a better start in life and got a better education

You’d kept your cock in your pants and not driven your wife back to South America

You’d never met that vile scum leech Kia

You’d stayed in Trafford

Carlos you have a God given talent, it beggars belief that you don’t want to run onto the pitch at every possible opportunity, not to do so insults every teammate, every fan and the people who employ you and pay your wages, but above all else it insults those immensely talented players who through injury and bad luck haven’t been able to fulfil their potential and their dreams, just go an speak to Mr P Lake and Mr O Hargreaves then maybe you’d understand what sacrifice, dedication, loyalty and humility mean

There is nothing left for you at my club, just leave, we don’t need you, Sunday proved that, and you know it

In 10 years time when you’re sat alone no wife, no kids, no hangers on, no Kia, look back at your life and think.....

.....what a waste

is he stupid? he openly admitted in the interview afterwards that he didn't feel right mentally or physically so said he didn't want to come on. How does he think he's going to sue us?
