Tevez For Eto'o...Straight Swap?

I think Bobby and the club have concluded that Tevez - just has to go - not because of him directly but slippery Kia would no doubt spend the whole season pulling stunts which we can do without - so we are better off without Tevez because when push comes to shove Tevez does what Kia tells him. I doubt we will ever get huge value from Tevez so a swap now for Eto who'd have a major short term impact on the team may be the best if not the ideal solution.

Thank God Mancini understands the importance of a reliable 4th striker. I'd prefer a younger player than Eto'o though. We are effectively burning the 50 mil Tevez is worth if we swap him for a 30 year old.

the manager has said as recently as yesterday that we need another central midfield player and a winger - as he tends to be pretty straightforward when he makes these quotes I believe him. I think he may also have previously said he may want another striker IF Tevez leaves

Would be a fantastic deal, Eto still has a few years playing at his peak for me. Can play out wide or in the middle. Bring it on ,our forwards would terrify sides before they step onto the pitch

Tevez wants out and the whole of football know it so his Market value is automatically lower than his true value . His agent is a trouble-maker and city want him away from the club. So for those 2 reasons Tev has to go.

Eto'o yes is older but as others have said does he look like a 30 year old? I stake all my money that he'd still be quality and as quick at 35.

There's little resale value true but there can't be in all players. Every team needs a few older wise heads. Ones that had been there and done it. Eto'o is that player. We would replaced the Vieira elder statesman and bagged ourselves a truly world class striker in one.
He has masses of Champions League experience and that would be invaluable for the next 2/3 seasons as we seek to establish ourselves in the competition.

Lots of positives only downside is FFPR but personally I dont care anymore about that (Etihad).

We don't need a priority. We work on everything at the same time. Mancini has said he wants a midfielder so obviously we're trying to get one. That doesn't require us to stop working on other positions. We have plenty of people earning fortunes to do exactly this.

RM presumably does not fancy Sneidjer as that would be the ideal swap. Possibly he brings too much baggage with his showbiz wife etc. (Did WS join Inter before RM left I can't recall) The swap with Eto makes sense as Inter are the only players in the market and with Nasri or Mata & a winger to follow. Any two from the front four of Mario, Edin, Sergio, & Sam is mouthwatering. Of course this will be deemed by some as scattergun purchases with no plan no method no idea etc etc etc...... yawn! I would have liked Carlos to remain but the Kia factor is too menacing and we need rid of his presence ASAP.

The only player we should be interested in from Inter is Sneijder. Eto'o has made it clear he's not interested.

So he messes us around and refuses to come a couple of seasons ago when he would have been a great signing. Now hes 30 and has openly come out to the press and said hes just looking a a final big pay day people think he would be a great signing.

Sounds a bit strange overall, hes worth half as much as Tevez due to his age, we would get 2 seasons out of him max imo.

From his interviews on this matter it really does seem like all his desire has gone and he just wants one final big pay day.

Zero resale value due to his age and wages. If we did a straight swap for Tevez who is just comming into his prime and is on a long term contract this would end up being just as bad a piece of business as Barca swapping eto for Ibra.

No thanks to a straight swap, Eto, Snijder and £15 million from us OR Eto and £30 million from Inter. We owe them £14 million from the Balo deal so they can call it £16 million cash and Eto for Tevez. That would be an acceptable non piss take deal but of course that sort of reasonable offer will not interest the Italians.
