Tevez: "I am a City fan. When United play City, I root for City"

He was a great player - but most of he was the signing that showed Europe that City wanted to be a top club again in their eyes.

The Welcome to Manchester poster was one that cut deeply into Ferguson's back - gave him reason to be concerned that this sleeping giant could one day compete with the best again -

Rag fans were really wound up by that poster - someone had dared to leave them for City - it was a huge moment for us as a club and Tevez was at the heart of it.

It was a massive symbol of intent..... Look at us now. Recognised as a giant of a club again and capable of attracting the best players in Europe.

A great player who will never quite gain the hearts and minds of City like Aguero does but who was possibly the most important signing we ever made......

Yeah yeah, great attempt at sentiment, but inaccuracy makes your post ill written.

People will do well to remember he never 'left them'. He was never theirs. He was on loan from West Ham, iirc.

GPC decided buying him at full price wasn't necessary as he had Tranny and Shrek and 2 years of loans meant he could drive the price down and get him next to nothing. The Tevez sale wasn't priority as they'd just won the league and he was put on the back burner. CT was right in thinking GPC didn't give a fook and that was the straw that broke the camel's back, amongst doing most of the work in that team.

We bought him lock, stock and barrel and the poster was a 'Fook You' from him and us.

Magical warrior of a player. Truly world class and a pleasure to watch. I liked his character too!

City legend

So he was a team player whilst he played for us and enjoyed his time whilst with us not what some people on the other Tevez Boca thread thought about him..

What a player we all had the priviledge of watching in a blue shirt..

Get on the phone txiki and get him back here!

Absolutely love Tevez as a player, 3rd best player I've ever seen at City after Silva and Auguero.

I think there's absolutely 0 chance of him ever coming back here under Txiki's watch though. No way he'll take the risks with loose cannons or loose cannon agents again I don't think.

Yeah I don't see it happening myself. It's more wishful thinking, from my part at least.

Him coming back is a complete non-runner but that would have nothing to do with Txiki not wanting him. Pellegrini spoke to him when he got the job in an attempt to make him stay but Carlos was never going to stay if there was an opportunity for him to leave, he had after all spent 2 and a half years trying to force his way out of the club.

Very good player for us .
But it would be like Shaun Wright Phillips and Peter Barnes coming back for a second time .
