I'd be sorely disappointed if the only reason he wanted to come to us rather than stay at the rags is because he's been promised that he'll start in 90% of the games. The club should make no such promise to any player, no matter how good they are.
Spot on, you should only be in any team on merit, otherwise the thing goes tits up.

Re: Tevez to Sign by Friday Night! (Real Source)

I'm not a huge Tevez fan, that being said I see 2 very good reasons to sign him.
1, The money goes outside the football world and not to a rival.
2, He will need no pumping up for the derby and brings bags of Prem League experience.

Tevez; I'm not convinced.

I think i am one of the few Man City fans who doesn't really want Tevez. For the formation we play he just simply won't manage on his own up top and we don't have the players to change formation enough just yet. I would much rather Aguero with rumours stating we are in early discussions but Atletico Madrid are looking for around 45 Million.

----------------------------Given-------------------------------

Glenn Johnson---------Kompany---------Carvalho----------Bridge

------------------------------De Jong---------------------------

-----------------Ireland--------------------Barry----------------

SWP-----------------------------------------------------Robinho

-----------------------------Aguero-----------------------------

Subs: Hart, Onouha, Zabaletta, Johnson, Petrov, Bojinov, Bellamy

Even that Bench looks impressive, we seem to have some real Squad strength at the moment.

I really rate Nedum Onouha but i think he is still young enough to sit on the bench at the moment and perhaps we could bring Carvalho from Chelsea in for a couple of years. He is 31 but he is absolutely Quality and has already stated he would gladly leave Chelsea in this window. Nedum would only get better with someone like him in the team and it provides strength in depth.

Glenn johnson at right back would be a fantastic signing because in my opinion Richards isn't good enough this season. He strikes me as lazy and paticularly Naive with his positioning.

I don't want Tevez as much as i want Aguero, he would be a class signing and Tevez doesn't cut i for me hen we could potentially get Aguero or £8 Million more. With this team now i can see we could hold the ball up paticularly well within the midfield and with the right striker we couldbe suprisingly good with the possibility of pushingArsenal for Fourth. But only with the right signings.

Re: Tevez; I'm not convinced.

why would aguero be better equipped to lead the line than Tevez?

Neither would do a great job up there on their own unless we are really controlling a game

Aguero is not tall, he is pacey, skillfull and likes to be on the ball

any different to tevez? not in my book

Tevez is a realistic target and would be a quality signing for us

Its no use saying im not convinced because i want this chap, Aguero is not available for 8 million more, he isnt even available as far as i know, and always states he wants to stay at Madrid

We can't have promised him to play in 90% of matches, that would be completely stupid even by our standards.

Re: Tevez; I'm not convinced.

I sort of agree with you....Tevez is undoubtedly a class player....However we are in more desperate need of a forward who can lead the line (eg drogba (but dont want him as he is too old)....or eto'o, or fabiano or torres)..........) Tevez is not a player who will lead the line.......again he is more of a second striker.

however we alos need to add quality depth to our squad and with the immanent departure of sturridge (and hopefully vass, benjani and evans as well).......we will neeed strenghtneing anyway

Re: Tevez to Sign by Friday Night! (Real Source)

i'm sure he'd be happy with any game time we give him, provided he's not sitting on the bench in place of someone he's much better than ie. berbaflop
